Hi can someone tell me if this is all compatible. I realise the case may be a little bit of overkill, but we have had heating issues in the past. That case should remove the problem and keep it future proof.

Cheers

Its all compatible, but change the PSU.

Never use a cheap PSU, the bequiet 530w should be your minimum.

Any of these will be better,

is this the power supply you guys mentioned.

Or should I go for something a bit more?

Any of these will power that rig and if you ever decide to add a discrete GPU then they can cope with most modest cards.

Spending a third of your budget on your case is always a terrible idea, unless all you're doing is upgrading your case.

The Cooler Master Elite 430 has plenty of breathing room and lots of pretty fans, and costs a whopping £100 less. That £100 could be spent on a £20 aftermarket cooler that would keep it far cooler in a CM 430 than your system would be in your fancy case, £30 for a far better power supply like the Antec HCG 620W, and then £50 to upgrade your motherboard to one that isn't glued together with chewing gum, duct tape and string.

I would also switch your Spinpoint F1 with the F3 1TB, as they store the same amount of data for roughly the same price and are considerably faster.

I was about to ask if there was a case with the bells a whistles cooling but without the brand name.

i'll take a look at the others bits of advise too, thanks.

Dont change the case.

If you want the silverstone then get it, it will be one of the parts that will last and last.

It comes with a single fan, not lots.

Its not worth it, nothing cools like these Silverstone cases, they are unique with the whole motherboard being rotated 90 degrees so it all fires heat upwards, the stock cooling that comes with this case is outstanding to with three Air Penetrator fans along the bottom blowing straight up.

cheers guys think i'll keep with the Silverstone.

I've changed the hard drive for the F3, changed the power supply for Corsair Builder Series CX 430W V2

can someone recommend a slightly better motherboard if that ones a load of crap?

bare in mind I wont add anything else to the build like a graphics card. Never be needed.

If he was running a 5.0+GHz death-or-glory overclock on an i5-2500K with overclocked dual 6950s and the motherboard was looking like it was going to have a meltdown, I'd agree with you. The dude's running an i3-2100, it's total overkill beyond belief. It'll barely rise above room temperature if he keeps it in a box without holes in it.

so can you recommend a cheaper case. Bare in mind we have had heating issues in the room they will be in. Lack of air conditioning and many computers. It will need good cooling. It will also be on 24/7

Sorry, but he wants a quality case that will last and last and remove any heating issues, the Silverstone is it.

Keep the Silverstone, dont let one person put you off what you want.
