Because it’s bad 3900X really needs something more significant than the stock Prism.

Yep, it really is god-awful and very noisy under load - even partial load (perfectly fine for work stations and lower end CPUs on a budget). But, it's premium CPU and deserves the love of a premium cooler - and most of all relative silence under load.

Which 3080? There’s so many different versions on the website I’d have no idea which one to go for when they release.

No one can really tell you atm which one is great, due to all reviewers being under a NDA with Nvidia until 17th when they go up for sale. So we have no idea if any of the partner GPUs coolers are crap, or all about the same...

But in terms of just buying from brands with a good warranty, I'd keep your eyes on the Gigabyte Gaming, Zotac Trinity and EVGA models.
