Build started.......help

As your mother board does not have on-board graphics, you would have to connect your monitor to a graphics card.

Monitors don't need drivers till you install an Operating System.

Just put the graphics card into your mother board and connect your monitor to the graphics card via the VGA/DVI cable.

 I get that, I am just trying to get to the BIOS screen at the moment.

The monitor should work via the Graphics card, even though I have not installed any drivers etc. I have just plugged it into the mobo, is this correct?

yes, the graphics card will work even if you dont install drivers in xp

drivers are only needed in the operating system, eg after the windows loading screen.

V3g3tto, he has a sata dvd drive and a sata hard drive, and only 1 sata cable. thats why it would be hard

ok thanks, I will need a another sata cable to connect my DVD RW.

I will check everything again tonight, but get ready for some photos if I can't get it sorted :D

Oh i see, didn't read that bit. My DVD drive is...DAMMIT i forgot to plug in my DVD drive!! It's plugged into power and i thought 'Hmm, i'm missing something there. Haha. Well i got 6 SATA cables luckily. I think i even forgot to plug it in on my old PC, still worked fine though. Doh.

Well, I am typing this from my new PC !!! :D:D: woooooo hoooooo.

Turns out I hadn't actually done too much wrong at all. I had the RAM in slots 1+2, not 1+3.
Took out the graphics card, had a look at it, told it that it better sort it's act out, put it back and voila, it worked (ok so i probably didn't click it in fully the first time:( )

New SATA cable, 50p from local PC fix it shop, Vista installed and everything up and running.

Thanks EVERYONE for your help, much appreciated.
If I can ever help anyone with SAP Business Warehouse, then let me know, I do know how that works:D:D

I setup mine last night too, and people who say the zalman 9700 is rubbish are idiots is all i'll say and i'll happily bench against them with it, it's absolutely superb.

Stayed up til 2am trying Crysis out. It's ok, i was probably just tired, but graphically and gameplay (i only played half hour mind you) Half-life 2 probably owns it.
