Hi guys,

Looking to build a new rig before BF3 lands on my door step.

Current things I can continue using:

  • Acer 22" Monitor (1680x1050)
  • Silencer 910w PSU
  • Keyboard & Mouse
  • Speakers/Headset
  • DVD RW.
  • Windows 7

I pretty much need everything else in within a rough £500-560 budget. Main use of the PC will be gaming, BF3 will probably be the most extenuating game I will want to play.

Do your worst!

I't s a good bundle, but you can get those components cheaper.

You sure you can't reuse your case and hard drives? that'd be handy and you can aim at a 6950.

You can also get a CPU cooler later.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE DIRT3 & Deus Ex Games £199.99
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail with FREE TrackMania 2 Canyon PC Game £173.99
1 x Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £130.00
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £41.99
Total : £557.36 (includes shipping : £9.50).

8GB is luxury if you need to cut down budget by £15.

Hi Ollie,

My case and HDD are about 3 or 4 years old. I'm not sure what case it is but it's made by Antec. I'm not sure if the new Motherboard will fit or not.

How much better is the 6950?

Post a picture of the case? the inside too? how many pci expansion bays are there on the case rear?

That will take a ATX board, so what Olivier said.

Can you measure from the rear expansion card to the metal frame of the HDD? need to check the graphics card will fit.

The other thing is the optical drive is IDE, so no good, you need to spend £17 for a new SATA drive.

Excellent, ordering some of the parts now.

What did you mean by the distance? You didn't say anything about it? :P

I did in post#11, its just to check the graphics card fits, you will probably have to move the harddrive anyways, but the metal frame you cant.
