I have built a computer and it is pretty good so far, I have done some pretty good cable management and overall it will cost me £5.00

Here are the specs:
CPU: Intel Dual Core 1.89Ghz (64bit)
Motherboard: DQ35JO
Graphics: Unknown but is 156Mhz with DVI and VGA
RAM: 4x DDR2 512MB 240pin
CPU Heat Sink: it looks like this
Hard Drive: 164GB SATA (Replacing it with 3TB SATA for free)
PCI: 4 extra USB Ports
Disk Drives: DVD and CD Opticle Disk Drives
Floppy: Replaced with Multi Card Reader
Case: Old one from garage, i'll post a picture later
Monitors: VGA x2
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit + SP1
Is it good? I'm getting upgrades which is 1Ghz DVI VGA HMI Graphics Card and extra fans(silent) Modular Power supply free off of a friend.

3 pin fan spliter x2 £1.65 each.

Should I overclock?
Any way to get the Graphics Card and the on board graphics working together?

Pics of my computer that cost me nothing because my dad is a computer technician and got me all of the pieces free from work? How can I take a picture of it being free?

The idea of a project log is to share the build of your computer, otherwise there would be lots of "I made one too" entries.

Some photos of the finished computer allow people to understand what you've managed to achieve over and above a bog standard build, and how you've been able to put your stamp on it.

I look forward to seeing your rig.....?

Pics will go up later today, but I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate + SP1 64bit and it's being slow, thinking of upgrading RAM to 4/8GB maybe add a heat preader on the RAM or get RAM with a heat spreader, opinions on that? Cable management has gone well, but there is one IDE cable that isn't hidden because it's too short, any ideas on alternative CPU Heat Sinks? Much appreciated. Any ideas on a modualar PSU? laso I'm getting a fan splitter so I can maximize my air flow and keep it cool, so far the temps are bellow 30 degrees so that's good, I'll keep you updated on upfrades and on the PC Build I'm doing at work.

heat spreaders on ram are not needed, also 4gb of ram would be a good idea and windows 64bit is meant for 8gb of ram systems. i think the reason the pc isnt too quick is a basic hardware issue.

Just moved it into my work area, I've decided to use these components as a basic start of the project, upgrades will go on as the year ends and the new year progresses, it will start as a work and office computer with pretty decent specs but then will change into a gaming pc. The case will remain the same until i begin to decide on how my new case will look then begin building. I might use water cooling but i might not because I don't like water cooling. I'm adding 8 extra Fans and will be adding a better PSU, maybe a new motherboard, should i get a new motherboard? I will definitely be getting 4 more 2GB sticks of RAM and upgrading. So far it's perfect, so fast and not good for gaming but perfect for online video streaming. Temperatures for CPU are 30 but for expansion card is 60 - 70 so getting more fans.

I seem to remember buying a case like that for one of my builds 10 years ago.... I think I got it from a competitor beginning and ending with an A - it was one of the first cases that I didn't shred my fingers on, and because it was mostly aluminium/plastic it was really easy to drill to cable-manage. Last time I checked, it was still going strong :)

From what I can see, you're pretty limited with what you can do on that mobo - I can;t see any way to overclock for instance... but it does sound like you don't need to do that.
