There certainly is a metal cover protecting the actual disks inside.

If you swap the CPU for a 3570K

The board for a Z77-D3H

Swap the 6950 for a 7850

Then it would be good.

im not 100% sure on ram i like to have lots but i think i might knock it down to 8 for now then up it up to 16 at a later point

im not sure how much i need but my oold desktop with 3gb ram was alwase lagging and maxing out so new specs and parts are

Why do you want 8 cores?

The Intel does more work per clock cycle than the AMD and be overclocked as well as the AMD version.

There is the 3770K which is 4 cores with 4 hyperthreading cores.
