Hi All, I was going to upgrade my old PC but after watching a how to build a PC on youtube have decided to build from scratch, I am building with a tight budget and have bought some 2nd hand parts aswell as new, so far I have:
K380 Coolermaster case
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard
AMD FX4100 processor
Seagate Barracuda 750GB hdd
Samsung 24x dvd writer
Coolermaster Real Power M520 Modular ATX PSU
G Skill RipJawz X 1866MHz RAM 8GB (2x4GB)
Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mm fan
What do you all think of the parts so far? and I believe I will need a graphics card as I think the CPU and motherboard do not have integrated graphics, is this correct?
If so what graphics card would you recommend? I was looking at EVGA Geforce GT 520 1GB, would this be a good choice or Asus AMD Radeon HD 6450?
Is there any other advice you would give for someone attempting a 1st build, I know about touching the case frequently to avoid static.
Many Thanks in advance :)

Ive spent £240 up to now on a mixture of new and 2nd hand parts, my budget was £250 but Im willing to spend about £35 on graphics card

CPU is already bought, looking at these 2 cards:
EVGA Geforce GT 520 1GB,
Asus AMD Radeon HD 6450,
are they compatible?

also if I was to build the PC now would I get a display screen or should I wait till I have the gfx card?

i would go trinity tbh, then you wont need to buy a GFX card

so far I have:
K380 Coolermaster case
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard
AMD FX4100 processor
Seagate Barracuda 750GB hdd
Samsung 24x dvd writer
Coolermaster Real Power M520 Modular ATX PSU
G Skill RipJawz X 1866MHz RAM 8GB (2x4GB)
Cooler Master Sickleflow 120mm fan

The OP has already bought the components listed, so it would seem a bit late in suggesting he buys Trinity.
The mobo does not have onboard graphics. The HD6450 will be enough for video playback etc, but wont be much use if you intend to do any gaming.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus HD 6450 SILENT EDITION 1024MB GDDR3 Low Profile PCI-Express Graphics Card £29.99
Total : £34.98 (includes shipping : £4.16).

If that is an aspect you require, than go for it.

Also, can you remove the link, as it is against forum rules to link competitors. Just a friendly warning.

If there was anyway you could send it back, I'd get a Trinity build instead (like already suggested).
However, talking about GPU's, the 6450/GT520 will be fine for video playback but you can forget any gaming.

im not really in to gaming but would these cards be ok for video editing? and the other thing that was confusing me was that on the fx4100 box it said best to get a radeon 6000 series graphics card so was thinking if i did get the GT520, would it work?

Yes it will work.
The 520 has Cuda, which some video editing software makes use of. I think you ought to look at the software you will be using and get a Gpu that will offer you the better performance. Also check if your software makes use of Open GL.

Thanks, I will be using corel videostudio pro x3, performance wise is one card better than the other or are they both just as good, im only being swayed by the 520 as it has the inbuilt tv tuner.

Thanks, just one more question, if I was to build the PC now would I get a display screen or should I wait till I have the gfx card?

You wont get a display without the Gpu. But there is nothing stopping you from putting it altogether now, then just slot the Gpu iin when it arrives.
