Bullying - Who's in the wrong here?

Are you talking about the victim or the bully? If I was the person that snapped after years of being bullied i wouldn't be sorry. Would you?

Why would he be sorry?

He stuck up for himself and unlike many others that are bullied, he got the support of.....the world. How can that make him feel anything other than inspired.
iamtheoneneo is talking about the interview with Richard Gale, the attacker, not the victim.

In that interview he claims Casey picked on him first and presents a sob story of how he too has been bullied his entire life. When asked directly if he is sorry about the incident, he responds "No", hesitates, looks to the side where his father is sat, then corrects himself. Pretty despicable kid.

Edit: Here is the video again for those that haven't seen it:

The little kid lost all sympathy when he threw the first punch.

His hobbling about with his little gobsmacked face was pretty funny, deserves the little scrote right. Not the brightest of things to slam on concrete mind you, but not all kids know how to stand and throw punches and that's the risk you take when you attack someone.

Interview is OTT a bit.

I think the bully got exactly what he deserved. Hopefully he'll think twice next time he tries to pick on another kid. No one should ever have to go through bullying. Ever. The fact is this little jerk got what he deserved and if this guy who lashed out had been putting up with it for so long I really can't blame him for snapping.

Him getting suspended. Maybe that's right as the school can't be seen to tolerate such an amount of aggression as he shows and it may have been a little overkill, but I hope they suspended the bully as well. :(

You can see it in the bullies body language in that interview, he doesn't seem to care about any of it.

I'm glad this has blown up to be honest, if it brings attention to bullying then all the better.

You can also tell he's lying through his back-teeth about being picked on first.

To me, it seems as if he was an angry (expected from a old child/teenager) and was looking for an 'easy target' to take it out on himself. He may well have been bullied by others or indeed, thought that normal teasing from peers constituted such bullying, but on that day I sincerely doubt he's telling the truth about Casey starting the confrontation first. He was clearly the outright antagonist.

Also, the more I watch that clip, the more I get angry at the taller lad who steps up to Casey after the body-slam in the "How dare you defend yourself and/or hurt my friend even after what he/we're doing to you!" manner. Slightly disappointed Casey didn't uppercut the berk really.

Thing is, the one kid, the little one doing the bullying, he's in control, he's not angry, theres no adrenaline, he's acting exactly how he wants.

The big guy, who slammed him into the ground, frankly till you've had a fight you have NO IDEA how hard to hit someone, how they will get hurt, how hard to push them down or if you could pick them up. The video strikes me as a fat kid who constantly gets bullies, never fights back, was bullied by other kids previously hence seeming the easy target to the much smaller kid.

You should never, EVER be punished for self defence, this was one thing he did, as someone said he didn't proceed to kick him on the floor, theres no intent to hurt, theres intent to prevent himself being hurt. The kid is more entitled to a safe bully free school enviroment than they are to expect him not to defend himself, they are completely in the wrong for suspending him. They allow a bully to be at the school, and under their supervision let the kid get beaten up, defends himself then punish him for it.

Punishing a kid for protecting himself, when frankly due to the time taken there was ample opportunity for other people to get invovled, staff who should be protecting kids, friends, random people.

THe one great bit of the vid(didn't watch too much). He obviously had some kind of fight training as he blocked one of my punches.......... that takes fight training, to work out that putting your hands between someones fist and your face is a good thing? infact it came across as something he was coached to say as it would sound great in a lawsuit... "the kid knew how to fight, knew what he was doing" etc, etc.....

So let me see, the boy with a face only a mother could love says the bullied victim abused him first by telling him to "get to class" and that's why he's the victim?

Kids these days.
