Bump question

A decent bodyshop would be able to pull that sill out as another option.

Negative. You can't just pull a sill out, fill it and spray it. Well, you can if you take it to Mickey Mouse motors....

I had a E46 M3 cab written off with exactly the same damage plus two smashed rims.

I'd be deleting this topic if I were you and get around there with some pound notes, you're already in the ****.

You've screwed up pretty bad, don't do anything that will make things worse like trying to get it patched up on the cheap. Tell the owner to book it in to the bodyshop of their choosing, have it repaired to their satisfaction and have the bill sent to you. Mentally prepare yourself for a big number and when the bill arrives pay it straight away without questioning it. Then move on and don't do it again.

Words of wisdom there. Except the last bit, well kind of.

Perhaps get a mobile repair company to come and have a look while the car is still parked on the street and the owner is still away, could at least give you an estimate

There but for luck (and a certain amount of skill).

My nephew got a brand new Aprilia 50cc bike and had it de-restricted on his 17th birthday. He was badgering me to give it a spin, so I took him up on it. Not having rode for a decade or so.

The first lap around the estate was sedate and learning the bike. The second and last was scratchy with knees on the floor and loads of rpm. I had then proved my point so gave it back to him.

I did not hit anything or fall off, I could have done so I feel a little sympathy for the OP. He should however accept the consequence and get it fixed back to original. We all occasionally do daft things and I will not be holier than thou about it.

Any update? I'm guessing the owner would have returned from holiday by now.

I hate to add, but I don't think this mistake will be anything less than expensive to fix. The best case scenario is if the owner is happy to keep it out of the insurance and let you pay to repair the damage. But things might get a bit ugly if she's forced to go through her insurance company, not sure if the insurance company could also get the police involved if you're admitting liability. Sure the damage to the car is a civil matter, but as you're admitting liability, that would also mean admitting to riding the bike without a license/insurance which is then a criminal offence.

Hoping it's not turned out too badly for you.

Could you not say you were on a push bike and got distracted and plowed into the car. Could put a cast on your arm and say you were hurt lol and you have scrapped your bike due to the damage. Apologise and offer to pay for the damage.

Get your (licensed & insured) mate to take the flack. Then offer you mate serious £££ for the damage to his insurance cover next year. Saves the police aspect for what is ultimately a stupid accident, and one you wont be trying again....
