What happened?

Click on the link above and where the fence is behind the buildings was an electricity station that powered Trentham.
He was a naughty boy, climbed over (allegedly to steal lead) but got electrocuted.
He somehow managed to get back over the fence and if you turn left and go to the first set of traffic lights that's where he was found.
Absolute miracle he survived.
Don't worry Feek I won't link the pictures however I deal with Clinical Photography every day and his injuries were some of the worst I've seen.

Yup. I once caught a falling baking tray that had my dinner on it and had just come out of the oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes with my bare hand.

One of the most horrendously painful nights i have ever had.

I saved the floor from damage though...and my dinner...

Ah I know where that is, used to drive past it all the time on the way to the Tollgate.

Yeah that's not a small fence, pretty incredible to get over that when zapped up. Surprised he survived the initial hit at all!

I guess this can be classed as a burn..

when I was young and stupid (around 10), I was playing on a treadmill and trying to impress someone with my monkey bar skills (as you do).I slipped and rather than rolling to the end of the room from the sliding conveyor belt, slipped and stopped the back of my neck on the end of the belt.

needless to say i burned through 4 or so layers of skin :( luckily no skin graft of any kind

Coming along nicely, still no blister.

I've got a fair few burn scars on my fingers and hands in general from assorted ironing and cooking accidents
Meanwhile the huge burn on my hip from hitting tarmac at 35mph left no scarring at all. Not to say I didn't get some gnarly scarring from the hole in my arm but still

As a welder I've had more burns than hot dinners.
Mig welding overhead without leather on will result in lots and lots of nice round burns marks and make you look like a drug addict.

Had some molten Ali land down the back of my neck and got stuck in the collar, made a nice scar.

Best one was similar, welding Ali overhead with Tig when a I put too much wire in,way too much, it fell down right into my crotch, burned thorough the overalls and hit my nut sack, that was unpleasant.

Ah the welders life.

I'm quite hard and have a good pain tolerance until it comes to a little burn and it's under the tap with lots of swear words for 30 minutes and wrapping it in cream etc.
My Mrs doesn't flinch when she gets one.

I get those on a weekly basis at work... well, when I'm not furloughed.

Luckily I've only had one or two that were a fair bit worse. They hurt like a ***** for about 45-60 seconds then they're fine.

The only more disproportionate (damage to pain ration) injury than burns that I’ve experienced is dental pain.

Agreed. The one and only time I had serious toothache was probably the worst pain I have ever experienced.

Luckily the Mrs had some heavy codeine left over from (something horrible that happened to her) so I scarfed a few of those down.

I saw the dentist the same day and had the tooth pulled.

Jeez. What must it have been like having toothache in the good old days?

I had a week of absolute hell in the early 00s and I rang every Dentist in Stoke 3 times over to deal with me but got nowhere.
In the end my mate who was also a Councilor asked me what dentist I wanted to go to and 5 minutes later he said turn up at 2pm this afternoon.
He ended up rooting my tooth and I'd never known pain like it.
From that day they took me on and I made sure I always went for a checkup every year.
The surgery was around a 4 mile drive away and he said I would have to go to his other surgery for the remaining work and future work - unbelievable, if I throw a brick over the house in front of me I will hit the surgery the other side of the road :)

When I worked for McDonalds I was burning myself everyday, but this was back when food safety standards were nowhere near what they are today and the burgers were removed from the grill using a spatula and your fingers (now its a spatula and tongs), so your fingers were always touching really hot stuff, then cleaning them got you splashed, and it got to the stage where if you worked the grill enough you could touch the platters for small periods of time without it really becoming an issue.

I did burn myself quite badly twice when working there once was when cleaning a bun toaster they have locks to stop the top platter coming down, but I hadnt set it, and had my left hand holding the bottom with my thumb on top (imagine grabbing the side of your desk with your hand and your fingers are underneath and thumb above) and proceeded to clean the hop top part and as I did managed to pull it forward and down (ie closed) onto my thumb (you should just about me able to see the outline of the burn 1cmx2cm or so, and slightly lighter) in this pic - and this is after a good 20 years.

Another time I was cleaning the fryers, this involves emptying the hot oil out of the fryers via a hole in the bottom, usually this gets clogged with bits so you use a metal stick with a right angle bit on the end, this is fine, just dont forget it has been in hot oil and so is hot and to not touch it with your bare hands.

I used to be quite accident prone though as when I worked on the deli at Sainsbury I managed to run my hand through the meat slicer and had a flap of skin on my left hand (under the little finger on the side) about half inch wide and 1.5 inch long that needed stitches at the hospital.

"magic cream" makes her sound like an mage/alchemist. Using a poultice of healing afterwards is OK, but you should have taken a potion of fire resistance beforehand.

I've been playing a lot of RPGs during lockdown. Does it show? :)

Hahaha :D

A fire resist pot would definitely have helped!
