Suzuki GSX-R750 K7 :D

2023 miles on the clock, FDSH, still on the OEM tyres! Two rusty bolts near the down pipe and missing rim tape, but other than this, it is mint :)

Dealer is going to do an oil and filter change on it this week and will give it the first MOT for free, has a month's tax left too.

So excited now, not ridden it, but I can't see me having problems with it really, never got to ride the Ninja or R1 before, and they were fine.

One of the mechanics has a Two Brothers slip on to fit it too, which takes out the CAT, the sales guy is going to find out a price for me, but it look like it’ll be £150 – so I’ll probably go for it.

Plans – hoses, brembo pads (maybe) – heard good things about them, new tank protector, stomp grips, shorty levers, that’s probably it for now.

I am so chuffed; they said I can probably pick it up Wednesday afternoon – just need to sort time off work and transport to Slough.

Really great dealer, such better service than the Swindon branch I thought, sales guy was a legend, didn’t mind me bartering with him; got £300 off the list price (£6,300).

Thanks :)

Just had the first insurance quote - £520 f/c for a **** poor postcode, so not bad at all :D

I'll have to call them tomorrow though, I'd rather speak to someone and go through every single detail, rather than trust a web page.

Nice one, the weather looks good for this week so fingers crossed once you pick it up you'll be able to spend some quality time getting to know each other ;D

Knee ache permitting, I’m off to Brecon at the weekend ;)

Damn too late , and I found a good one for ya too ;):D

Hahahahaha, that actually made me dribble my drink laughing :D

That from Art deans? Very nice btw!

Also a Swindon lad spotted ya location :)

Nah, took a trip to George White’s in Slough. I went into Art Deans the other weekend, was shocked at the lack of ‘decent’ stock now – seem to cater more for the learner market; last I heard they lost the ‘official’ Suzuki title and were going with Aprilia.

Looks awesome. Best CC on the best bike :D. Need to get them strips rid on them BT016's, looks like the last rider didn't push very hard :p lol.

And damn you all living close(well, 3 of you :p), I miss having my weekly meets to go to lol.

Tell me about it, those strips will be gone pretty quick…. mind you, still on the OEM rubber for the last 3 years; can’t imagine they’re going to be in peak condition – could be wrong though so softly softly.

Very nice Scort, Get a racefit on it :D

Cheers dude :D I actually quite like the OEM pipe (if you can call it that), so may leave that one for a while, after that, and if I buy it, the Two Bros one can go on. A mate of mine has a K5 600 and said that the Suzuki ECU can be reprogrammed for a slip on and filter, without the need for a Power Commander; but a PC allows for finer tuning….

I'm not too far from there, may take a wee trip and have a look around at their stock. Could hit two birds with one stone: Make the trip the day your collecting your machine and say hello briefly, while your in my area??

Why not :) I'll be heading there Saturday, aiming for 10:00 I think.

First on the list are new tyres and get the suspension sorted you have more than enough power to be going on with.

Just have to make it flickable now ;):D

I may just do the usual pipe and filter mod, MCE insurance were very cool with mods, only interested in anything affecting performance.

A fried of mine is at JHS Racing in Bristol today, getting his K5 GSXR set up for a few mods he's made (can, filter, PC and stacks), he's also gonig for a suspension setup too - I may do the same soon enough :)

Very nice :)

Keep hold of the stock exhaust as for some track days the Two Brothers exhaust is likely to be very loud

It sounded pretty loud in the dealership, I've also heard soem stories of the standard can being too loud for track days, that's why I think I'll keep it on for a while :)

Very nice indeed, please be safe!

I intend to be :) Much as I'm giving off the impression I'll be thrashing this from day one, I really wont be - been off a bike for numerous weeks now, so it'll be a real softly softly approach for a while to come.

cool, post back if theres a change of time/date and I'll adapt my trip to suit.. I'll be on my tractor :D

If I'm not sat on the bike, I'll be walking around in the shop having a browse. White and black MX style lid (Unless I get a refund this week), sidi vertigo's and black textiles; the jacket has dayglow sholders, sides and strips down the the arms. Should be easy to spot in that lot :)

Will do :) And you sound like you'll be easy to spot in all that lot :D

Weather permitting, I'll probably be in a blue/black Wolf one piece, or if it's raining, black/white textiles.

Can't you both wear a red carnation/rose? :p If you decide this is the best approach please take a nice photo k.

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to say: Looks nice! Is there a way to tell (other than asking) which GSXR a GSXR is? (600/750/1000/86323120)

Hahahaha, I was thinking the same, but this being OcUK - we'll be wearing loaves of bread :D

The tail section, although not easy to spot in my pictures, shows the cc :)

Arrrggghhhh!!!

Just been called by the dealership - bike is now ready to be collected :( Why can't Slough be in walking distance :P

Think I'll have to wait until Saturday to get over there, but they're supposed to be really busy then, so fingers crossed...

I'm insured and ready to go - don't fancy catching a train there in full kit, lol.

Picking it up tomorrow now dude, between 10:00-11:00 (train permitting)

If you're there I'll be sure to say hello, if not, then I'm sure we'll catch eachother at the next OcUK bike meet..... I'll make it to one, one day :D

I'm in Amersham Bucks.

Scort, my lids gone back to the factory so look for the odd-ball with a sports lid on a supermoto :D

I’m thinking it would be easier to just wear bread at this rate :p

Ok, my Tommy Hill lid arrived today, so I’ll be lugging that along on my six pack (I wish! It’s Knox :D), and I’ll dig out my Berik two piece, should be easy to spot me – I’ll be the **** grinning like a Cheshire cat :)

Did you get back okay scort?

As I was having a ciggy, while your where dealing with the paperwork, I noticed my rear light bracket fix had snapped  So I had to head back in order to get to a mates gaff and get some more metal before he went out to the auctions.

It was good to meet you though

Yeah, got back fine dude – got bored ****less on the M4 though, so came off at Newbury – dealer suggested the A40; but I decided to opt for the quickness of the motorway; sort of regretted it :p

Unlucky, but that the sort of thing that trigger an immediate return home – had the same on the R1 when the front lights packed up; ended a lovely day riding towards the coast :( But better safe than sorry!

Likewise, it’s nice to put faces to names, that’s two now – yourself, and I stalked Fireskull at George Whites :D

As for the day…… I haven’t eaten yet, lol, been riding solid! Love the bike, it’s what the R1 should have been like for the road, has masses of usable power and is so flickable, I’d probably go as far as saying that it’s better than the 675; and that thing was amazing!

Just put about 160 miles on it and got shot of those chicken strips to boot – just enjoyed leaning it over too much, although the left one is still there; may have to eat it as I’m starving now…

I purchased the Two Brothers can, but I’m in two minds whether to fit it – the standard can is actually pretty loud as standard, the factory stickers indicate 102Db at 6600 RMP – by contrast, my mates K5 is 90Db at 6000

I couldn’t stay off the net last night, so have about 500 quid’s worth of kit coming – the usual, hoses (white ), double bubble, K&N, Pazzos etc etc….. :D

I want to learn to ride - this just makes it an even bigger want :(

What's stopping you?

I was seeing a woman from work back in 2005, and it was her that made me think "you know what, why don't I take my bike test?" - that and she told me my car (Mondeo ST24) was an old man's car :D Cheeky cow.

Anyway, I had managed to get myself into a 13.5K loan over 5 years (I kept changing cars!) and all I had to show for it was an aging PC, and an R reg. ST24; so I sorted my finances out and cleared all that debt by January 2007 :)

Loan free, I put my new disposable income towards funding my tests and kit, and I haven’t once regretted passing, even if I’ve had my fair share of bike-related mishaps :p

So, erm, yeah. That’s how I got into biking :D
