Bye bye, Canada

All the Canadians ive met were really friendly and nice,
Except for those from Quebec, or so it seems from my time there, and what I know of their history. They appear to have the highest opinion of themselves and the lowest opinion of everyone else. If you thought the French (and New Yorkers to some extent) could be like that, French Canadians seem to be much worse.

This is of course a huge over-generalisation, and like all such, there are plenty of exceptions, but they are just that - exceptions.

The rest of the country is great. I've been to places in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, and enjoyed them all. If I was ever to choose to emigrate there, I'd have a hard time chosing between Toronto and Vancouver - the former has the infrastructure for me as a non-driver, but the latter has the less extreme weather conditions. :)

Thanks for the kind messages you lovely lot :D

Back home now...just over 13 hours since I got on the plane. Weird....

....

Time flies.

Thats confused me even more now!! How did you guys meet if she's from Mexico?
Intarweb :o

Public photos will probably arrive soon...need to see if I have permission from The One to put her online. Mindyou, photochopped dinosaur faces are equally cool.

Go do something manly like get an oversized axe and chop down a large tree! You need it to save you from impending girlishness!
We had a BBQ with man-sized (HUGE) steaks and salmon as my last meal, then I took a photo of the insanely oversized trucks they have over there..sounds manly enough to me!

Managed to get a bit of business from the person sitting next to me on the plane, which cheered me up.

Ahh Calgary eh??, nice city and nice scenery and dont worry dude i know how u feel. As i get quite emotional when i leave my gf in nyc, but luckily im not the sort to break down in tears whereas she does and makes a scene...not to mention getting my shirt all wet with her tears
It is nice - kinda flat apart from the Rockies though, and like a ghost town with brown grass in winter. Was just starting to turn green over the past week, so it must be nice in the summer and the Rockies are stunning all year round I'd guess.

when do you see her next?
Hopefully in the summer, either here or in Cancun...they just bought a house over there so I'd love to go there again.

People say "why don't they come over here?" and I say... "Bristol or Cancun? Hmm...." :D

Instead of a manly hug can I give you abuse?
I'd expect no less from you, because I know really you're just a scared Frenchie underneath :p

/runs : D

Didn't actually cry all that much, just a bit. Smoothe from Jugo Juice = happyness!

Uni in UK :(

Mindyou you can get houses from only $50k USD and it's incredibly cheap to live there, so if I dropped uni I guess I really could move there :D

how long do you have left at uni?

Bet your heart's saying one thing, while your head's saying the exact opposite isn't it? ;)
Know the feeling :o

Love to see some photos if you're allowed to sometime :)

I start in Sept, 4 years.

Ah! A little while then :(

If it were me I'd be sensible and not drop everything for a girl half way round the world.

If it's still going in four years then consider moving :)

ah yeah, love Canada. Of course i'm a bit biased but ah well :p. And just to make you jelous i'll be moving back there for good (hopefully!) this July for university in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

And btw, you were just in Calgary so keep an eye on the NHL, with some luck Calgary could be going all the way this year, heres for hoping anyways :D

whoa mate , had no idea where calgary is (i thought east coast) , had a look in Google earth and was shocked tbh. :(
Thats some distance keeping you apart, well what helped me when i was away from missus was only thinking about our next reunion, keep strong.

That just sounds sooo wrong! ;)

i used to live on Vancouver Island, and for a little bit in Vancouver itself, and it's an amazing place. Vancouver island especially so. Really miss it :(
