Well that's it I've had enough. Today I'm getting up to 20% packet loss and its the last straw. Requested my MAC code and looking to migrate to adsl24 who I've heard good things about.

Its a shame, 3 years ago Eclipse were great.

:(

Yeah I'm looking at the 30/300 package. Don't do loads of downloading, mainly just MMORPGS and browsing, so paying £1.01 more than I do with Eclipse for (hopefully) a much better service seems like a deal to me.

:D

Office packages are worht looking at. Ask him to turn off interleaving as well if your lines good that is ;)

I'm leaving NTL at the moment and have a clear BT line in their pricing is good at ADSL24 for what I need!

Bit of downloading here and there and gaming most of the evenings :)

Home 3 8 Mbps 448 Kbps 3 GB 30 GB 16.50 Right up my street :D

Can anyone comment what gaming is like with these guys?

Also CC and fault issues?

Fanks!

20% packet loss?? can you tell us more?

sometime moving to different ISP will not solve problems.

Yer - I echo this.
20% packet loss on ADSL is not just rare it's....
Well lets say when I was on wireless broadband the worst I ever saw was 10% packet loss and that was on cold, wet, foggy evenings with a tree full of leaves and it being between me and the 800m between me and the wireless node.

If you're seeing 20% packet loss on your line I don't think changing ISP is going to help.
Sounds like you've got a line problem.

Well the packet loss has only just started, during Eclipses maintenance work they are doing at the moment.

It's not so bad this morning - more like 4%.

Never had *any* packet loss before and I'm plugged into the master socket, so *thats* not an issue.

Can you run a traceroute and post back where the packet loss is appearing?
I'm just not convinced that you switching ISP's is going to help you here.
Obviously ultimately it is your choice etc, however you've asked for general advice and if I was seeing anything higher than a few packets every hour being lost on nearly all traces I ran over ADSL I'd start looking at a line fault and not an ISP issue.

Activation is next Tuesday for me :)

Can't believe the price (£16.50) with 8 statics free I'm not a big downloader so 30gig a month is fine for me and if I want to up it to 300gig that only £19.99 which is still good!!

Whats your pings like in game Fisha?

Already been on the forum and all sounds good so far :D

Obviously it's an issue with the ISP. Did you not see the graph I posted from L8NC?? Showed the exact same 20% packet loss mid-day yesterday.

Some people need to open their eyes.
