Bye Bye Game!

could turn into another rangers fc feasco, opcapita buy game for a pound. tax man chaps the door and asks for 10mil, opcapita do a runner

I was hoping for some going out of business sales from game before they got picked up by some company :(

I just hope the new management has more of a clue than the people who ran game before, I hope those people never run a company again.

I couldn't help but laugh when I went into the one in town yesterday.

They had Terraria... for £20. A game that is on Steam for £6 and could be picked up in sales for less than £2 many months ago. Is it any surprise they're going down with prices that competitive?

Any idea if it would be smart to place a pre-order with game? (For Diablo 3 :) )

They're offering more on trade-ins at the moment and i'm tempted to trade in a few old games then pre-order with them. Dont want to have all that credit only to find out there's a problem though. :(

Safe IMO. They won't go bust now for Atleast until after diablos release

Business must be really bad  they emailed me a 1000 game points rewards voucher to use instore only (which equates to around £10 off). Still cba to go & use it though must be spent by 29th April probably all GAME reward card members will get this soon.

Only one open in Belfast now and thats the original one at Donegall Arcade. I think they made a mistake closing the Park Centre branch, that place was pretty convenient for people wanting to shop local coming upto Christmas.

In Southampton, closed the store in the key location and kept the one going which was in the poor position, I guess on paper the view was go for the cheap location but it doesn't work that way. Store in the key location was always way to busy, early days but the other one was almost empty when I went in their a week ago on a saturday

No point being busy and not making any money though. I worked for a major high street retailer that had a prime location store in Bournemouth high street with a turn over of 3 million quid a year and it made no profit at all.

1000 points is worth £2.50.

I got the same email, but for such a pittance I can't be bothered travelling into town to have a look in store. I'd STILL likely be able to beat their prices online without having to move off my jacksie.

Well, both GW2 and Diablo 3 are my only pre order games since Skyrim.

Skyrim I bought from Shopto
Diablo 3 CE preordered from Gamestop for £55
GW2 pre purchased from CJS keys.

All three were originally pre ordered with Game, but then cancelled because I found them cheaper elsewhere, and Game messed up two of my deliveries in the past with them arriving a day late, whereas other placers guarantee delivery by release day.

When I complained about the late delivery to game, their replies were less than acceptable, justifying that late deliveries are ok for them, so I thought in that case I would shop elsewhere that guarantees release day delivery, and at least apologize and accept the fault if a game arrives late.

What are they like after being taken over?

Looking to buy a console and a few games from the website

Also, who do they use for express delivery? I cant seem to find anything on the website

Can't say about big stuff like consoles etc but all the games I have got over the past 2-3 months have arrived on time and the few downloads that I have got are fine. But be warned with downloads they only work once, you then have to email for a new download if needed. Keeping the files should be fine it is the download .exe that you need to get again.
