Sold my Prelude the other week and have just picked up this beauty.

1992 Toyota Soarer 2.5 twin turbo. It's an auto but is pretty nippy, stock they are 280 bhp. Not much to look at but i'm having a great time scaring the crap out of boy racers in it :)

It's only done 40k as well! Apparently it's got a pretty similar setup to Supra turbos, but a slightly longer wheelbase.

Cool ride m8! How much did you pay? Why did you go for something like this over the other jap cars?( not a criticism just interested)

I really like those Soarers... nice car! Is there nothing that can be done about the add on rear fog light? It looks an eyesore. I know is a legal requirement but does anyone make a replacement rear cluster which includes a built in foglight?

Only paid £2k :) I'm just getting a bit bored with in your face Jap cars that look fast. This looks quite bland, but it's a got a lot of power in the hood :)

It's also got 4 usable seats (fronts are fully electric!) Beautiful digidash too.

Sounds like a deal! It's certainly different I bet a lot people don't know what the hell a soarer looks like!! I only know because the Soarer was in the original Gran Turismo for the Playstation!!!

Saw one of these yesterday in Plymouth, virtually the same numberplate as well.

Pulled away quicker than him, thought blimey they are slow.

Then he left me as if I was stood still :p

Always been a fan of the Soarer (since Gran Turismo anyway :D ), nice shape, fairly uncommon and as has been said, nice and powerful. All it needs is some nice new dishes. Guessing those on it are 17's?

£2k though. That is cheap!!!

Nice choice, and one of the better names for a car to come out of Japan too *cough* Nissan Cedric *cough*

heh! That particular warning light means rear light bulb is out. Got a whole page here of the different codes you can have!

The only issues I have with it are that the LCD display for climate control is bleeding, so it's a bit hard to read what setting it's on and also the CD changer is missing a cassette. I'm sure I can source a replacement, but coupled with the fact that the radio is only tunable to Jap frequencies it means I currently have no audio!!

As Clarkson said, most cars will probably think they have you off the lights until the turbo kick in. :)

Errmmmm............

TOYOTA Soarer???

My mates dad used to have that car in red with 19" alloys, was a beauty BUT I'm quite sure my mates was a Lexus Soarer, I think your car is actually a Lexus but some idiot put a Toyota badge on it.
