*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

The suspension looks terrible going over the grass, doesn't look realistic at all. Quite a pretty game though.

While what you say is true, the game is in a very early stage and looking at that its quite clear that area hasnt really been worked on that much. so making what you say kinda pointless.

New build is out for Team Members and above, build 81.

Includes a very rough Bathurst, when I say rough, I mean just a ribbon of track and no detail at all.

Plus all the previous tracks in reverse and support for more steering wheels.

Not my video of Bathurst, but give you an idea.

I'm very tempted to give this a try - had a look on a mates machine last night and was very impressed thb!

Anyone know how this runs on a 1GB GTX460 and whether or not it supports SLI as I'm thinking of getting another 460!

Thx

Runs well enough on my 5870, so your GTX 460 ought to be playable. There are some slowdowns in places, seems the same for everyone.

Read the thread, some people complaining about SLI support, not sure about the latest builds but since it's pre-alpha, don't expect miracles! Or in fact anything to be working properly.

Thanks!

I've read through most of the thread but it seemed to decend into arguments about comparing this to fully completed games and I lost the will to live a little bit! :p

Just wanted to know where my card stood in the graphics scheme of things - obviously one of the main draws of this project are the stunning visuals and its no good having to run everything on low when thats the case!

There's enough options, even at this stage, to tune it so you can get some performance. What's more important is having a decent wheel to appreciate the FFB improvements and so on. It's designed to be a sim from the ground up.

I've just picked up a Logitech Driving Force GT (cant stretch to the £200+ beasts out there!) and I'm hoping this project persuades me to keep it or I might just end up taking it back!

When driving SMS NUKE 3 in race, when cars are about 2 lengths away I miss the body, I just see four wheels and a driver :) Looks quite funny, only when you get closer do the car body's pop in.....Does anyone else have this?

Everyone has that. It's because they haven't done the modelling for the more distant cars yet. So once the render engine decides it can't use the max detail model any more, it goes looking for the next level down and finds SFA. :->
