C:\ - how much space do you use? - Poll

i have 3 partitions:

C: for windows > 30GB (used for OS only)
D: i put all my programs, music, pictures, films, games etc here > 203GB
E: for backups only > 500GB

What i like with my setup is whenever i format the C: drive, everything stays intact on the D:, so programs like Opera never lose my bookmarks, wand passwords etc..

This is over 2 hard drives, one hard drive 250GB the other 500GB

Ill just run down my SSDs for you not the rest of my drives, it would take ages:

Home PC 128Gb Falcon - 92.5Gb free
Laptop 64Gb Samsung - 45Gb free
Media centre 32Gb Corsair X32 - 18Gb free

I purely use my laptop for surfing and work, so I think 64 was enough on it for that, ive got all my douments etc on a 16gb flash card in it. And the media centre needs to be as fast as poss so its runing really light.

I got the 160gig Intel X25M G2 too
Using 100 gig atm, though thats only 4 games installed atm, to the earlier poster who said they only use 15 gig for "games" most modern games take up 10-15 gig each
Also got 1.5Tb WD Caviar Green for storage and any secondary games (none installed atm) by this I mean my favourite games go on the SSD and any other/older games I play occasinally can go on the WD

I have a 60gb Falcon SSD, Windows7 64bit Ultimate, office 2007 and a few apps like Nero and other MP3/DVD softwares and a 6gb page file, everything else (games/Movies/Pictures/Music/Downloads etc) is installed on mech drives.
Think I have just over 25gb free space on the SSD :)

I keep all data and games on other drives but that still leaves 104 GB used on C, however 40 GB of that is system restore/page file etc..

So I could fit this onto an 80GB drive but I really need a 128GB+ to avoid spending time keeping the usage within 80GB.

100gb on a 150gb velociraptor. I have my camera pics on my c: though that i should really move, and my download location is to c: too so its faster to unzip many files. Also some games are installed.

OS and programs arnt that much really, i'll check tonight

36Gb Raptor is my C / OS drive but I'm thinking about moving to an SSD when I finally get around to trying Windows 7 in a few weeks time.

My other two drives are filling up a fair bit now as this is my main PC out of the 4 I own and all my work gets done on this one. When I get the SSD I think I will invest in a couple of 1Tb drives to replace both my E: and F: drives. :)

W7, games, programs, music, pictures, films etc etc.. soon adds up

820GB used on your C drive

Am glad that's not my C: drive..As I like to be able to format C and reinstall very quickly ;)

Why is your pagefile MASSIVE

Vista 64 & drivers (gfx card, mb, wireless thing etc) takes up 28GB on my SSD
Have 2 MMO games on it also, taking up an additional 15.5GB
43.5 used of 80GB

have most games on samsung F3 as there arnt really noticible benefits for having them on SSD... but for MMO's its great!

I only use ~7GB on C. Windows XP and some small stuff. Swapfile on D, games and stuff on E.

Total usage not including games and video is 23.7GB

I tend to keep my drive tidy, rather than just leaving everything on because it fits. I also tend to use freeware apps, which tend to be much smaller.
