Seriously fed up with this now. I'm not even that fat, I weight 96kg and I'm 6ft tall so only slightly chubby, but 'er indoors has decided to do it so because I'm such an amazing person I'm showing solidarity and doing it with her. I'm on day 3 and I'm fed up. I'm constantly starving, looking for the things I'm allowed to eat and sort-of enjoy.

No eggs, no meat, I'm basically a vegan for 7 days. No wonder vegans are so insufferable.

Eurgh. At the end of today I'm not even past the halfway mark.

I just feel like whinging, that's all. Gonna be a looooooong weekend.

So you are both going to be the type of muppets that "go on a diet" for what... a week? Then resort to your old ways and put it all back on and wonder why you're fat again in a month.

Diet is not a verb, it's just what you eat. Everything in moderation. Start eating more healthily, regularly. Learn to cook. Stop drinking so much. Stop snacking. Be more active. Eat less carbs. Fad diets are so utterly pointless it makes my head explode.

Fortunately my other half agrees with all of the above, but if she'd asked me to go on a diet (any sort) I'd tell her to get stuffed. Pointless.

Indeed, pretty much this. Changing your nutritional outlook instead of going on fad diets is SOOOOO much more beneficial. Being 'on' any sort of 'diet' suggests your going to be coming 'off' it at some point and that's not what you want.

Scottish Slimmers went bust last month, the news interviewed a woman saying it was a shame because every time she went she lost a couple of stone. She had been 30 times now.

Maybe you could support her desire to get in decent shape by offering some more suitable advice. It's got to be more beneficial than joining her on a venture you clearly don't enjoy and then being unable to hide your negativity.

is there a typo ? it started promisingly, but apart from negative weight, don't see the joke, or pun

Go keto, eat as much fat as you want.Today I had steak with asparagus for lunch, and a huge pork chop with veg for dinner.Just polished off a bowl of berries with clotted cream whilst sipping my double cream enriched coffee.
And I'm still losing weight...

You have to be joking? If not, mate you need to have a sit down in a quiet, dark corner somewhere and ask yourself where it all went wrong!:p
He has to be on a wind up
Please please please God, he has to be on a wind up.

All you are doing is confusing your body where it will panic and go into storage mode. So when this fad is done. When you start to eat normal again you will just gain more weight. The body is a pretty smart machine don't try to fool it. Everything in moderation is the key. What you could lose in 2 weeks you'll gain double in that same year just not worth it. Get something like myfitnesspal and track your cals the sensible way rather than these half arsed instagram fads.

Wait until you try a 7 day egg fast, you'll be dreaming of cabbage soup! :D

This ^^^

Started Keto last year April and by Christmas I had lost more than 10 stone (yes, I'm a fat *******)! It's the most sustainable diet there is and as an added benefit you feel amazing and super energetic 24/7!
