Cabbage soup diet - FML

I hate to break it to you, but you are both obese. http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/tools/bmi_calculator/bmi.shtml

Society has totally normalised fatness and you're a product of that. No offence, obviously.

I know that, I said I don't -feel like- I'm obese. :p

That chart is slightly BS anyway. It suggests that if I were 10 stone, I would be "normal weight". If I were 10 stone I would look like an anorexic twig, my wrist bones are wider than some of my friends entire arms who are about 10 stone.

About 13.5 - 14 stone would be ideal but again the chart says that's overweight bordering on obese. :p

Currently 17.25 stone.

Go keto, eat as much fat as you want.Today I had steak with asparagus for lunch, and a huge pork chop with veg for dinner.Just polished off a bowl of berries with clotted cream whilst sipping my double cream enriched coffee.
And I'm still losing weight...

Preach! :D

Started Keto last year April and by Christmas I had lost more than 10 stone (yes, I'm a fat bas****)! It's the most sustainable diet there is and as an added benefit you feel amazing and super energetic 24/7!

I started in earnest in October last year and I've dropped 7st so far. Without any exercise. Also a fat SOB.

Keto isn't magic, eat too much and you will gain weight. It's about finding with diet best suits you. Some people find keto best, some fasting and others just portion control. It doesn't matter what method you use though if your not consistent.

From another user on a different thread.

As with most other "fancy" diets it's just another way to lower your calorie intake but they dress it up as some magical diet that works through voodoo rather than calorie restriction.

This sums it up pretty well.

Edit to add: Well done to you guys that have found something that works for you. Great achievement. I bet it makes you feel a million miles from where you came from. Keep it up.

Whilst true, not all calorie deficits are equal.

a 1.5k calorie diet predominantly made up of 90% proteins and fats will be more satiating than one than one made up of 90% carbs. You will lose weight on both, but feel far hungrier on the latter.

Plus there are other benefits beyond just weight loss, I'm back on the bread again and my energy levels are more 'jagged' and my sleep quality has taken a hit.

Yup, That's why what works for someone, May not work for others. It's about what finding out what works for you and enables you to remain consistent with the goals.

I'm really starting to limit how much bread I eat (I only have it when I have pizza as I count the base as bread), I used to feel terrible when eating sarnies.

Lunches are now a lean meat with either salad, rice or pasta (or a mix of salad and of of the other two).

hope you scrumped one of them .. or the romanesquo

just realised this is encroaching on the borscht thread - 150million people can't be wrong
Russia has the highest annual cabbage consumption per capita in the world at around 44 lbs per person
