Hi
In the future I might run a network cable from my router to xbox series x upstairs, which is currently on wifi, which is fine to be fair but would be nice to see the difference hard connection would make on my future 1gb fttp connection.
If I can do this would connecting a long length of cat 6 cable to my switch downstairs near to the router and then running it under the floorboards/walls and straight into my series x work, also what is the maximum length for cat 6, as a guess I would say from switch to xbox its about 15-20 metres.
I guess this is the messy workaround as opposed to installing ethernet ports onto the walls, are the wall ports needed or is that just for tidiness?
