The non R is pretty good if specced well as the 5.0 NA makes 385bhp.

It's not that sporty, wide and 2+2 is probably an optimistic phrase!

The 640i Cab is a bit meh.. Lovely interior, but I just can't get on with the 6 series it feels all wrong..

Namely, a crashy/hard ride (on 20" wheels) yet feels heavy in the twisty stuff and just detached enough for it to feel far too cruiser with a compromised ride for me..

For £40K, I'd get the M4 Convertible:

For £25-£30K I'd probably get the E400 Cab (By far the most cosetted/refined ride with reasonable sporty pretentions, it doesn't feel too heavy, but it doesn't feel too racy either).

For £20K, an E93 M3..

Or if 2 seats, something Porsche for sure.. or F-Type..

Had a look around a few dealers today. Interesting stuff.

BMW Wilmslow - Had a look around a 640d cabriolet. Actually really like the look of it, the tech, the roof, practical stuff etc. Didnt drive it, and was a diesel (a quite refined and revvy one tbh). Gonna get a drive in one soon.

@Fox - what are the options on these, which are must have, which meh etc. Also if you buy a non-BMW approved used, can you still get a BMW warranty?

Porsche Wilmslow - Nice dealership and very nice salesperson/attentive and spent loads of time with me; slowly trying to get me into an 80k 991 lol. Anyhow 997.2 is a write off. The exterior is lovely, but the interior is like stepping back into the 80s. By that token the 996 would be even worse. 991 is too much money also.

Got into a 981 boxster S which was really nice, but I think its a little too small, and im a little too big lol. Probably will get a drive in one next week.
