What weight is your kettlebell? I've been thinking about getting one to see if it can help me lose weight. Not entirely sure how heavy to go on the first one.I have a single kettlebell and a two dumbbells, as well as a fold away pull up bar. I've found I don't need anything more than that.
I quit the gym last year for the same reasons.
Mine's 20kg but you might want to start lighter depending on what you are doing. I mainly use it for kettlebell swings. What weight is your kettlebell? I've been thinking about getting one to see if it can help me lose weight. Not entirely sure how heavy to go on the first one.
I read somewhere that men should start with 16kg. Is that about right do you think?Mine's 20kg but you might want to start lighter depending on what you are doing. I mainly use it for kettlebell swings.
Well you need it heavy enough to do some good, but not heavy enough that you'll hurt yourself!I read somewhere that men should start with 16kg. Is that about right do you think?
I've got a 12 and 16kg. I'd I could use a 20kg now for swings but the 16 is fine for cleans and presses. I guess it depends on how strong you are to start with. They are a really versatile tool. Having two is useful for squats and farmers carry. 12kg is more than enough for my turkish get ups atm.I read somewhere that men should start with 16kg. Is that about right do you think?

Don't know how I missed this. Yes, that makes sense.Well you need it heavy enough to do some good, but not heavy enough that you'll hurt yourself!
Ok, I'll look into getting 2 x 12kg to start with, cheers.I've got a 12 and 16kg. I'd I could use a 20kg now for swings but the 16 is fine for cleans and presses. Might be one in MK. I have seen some YT videos and other sites showing some example exercises to do with kettlebells. It depends on the person, there isn't one size fits all when it comes to weight training and that approach can do more harm than good.
Look into whether or not you have any local fitness stores nearby such as Decathlon, they often have weights of various ranges and types on display. Look up some exercises and test them out on various weights but start on the lower end and work up, ideally you want to be able to feel the strain of the weight while maintaining form.
