ok just got call of duty: world at war and all over the box it says its compatible with the xbox 360 controller for windows, but it just doesnt work, (wired version) doesn't get recognised and there's not even a game pad setup in the options menu - anyone else had this issue? - thanks in advance

Yea you have to use Xpadder.

Someone on another forum contacted Activision about it and apparently its a typo on the case that they havent bothered to fix

thanks yeah tried xpadder but the controlls seemed way oversensitive like i try to aim and its all over the place. anyway of reducing the sesitivity in xpadder - cheers

There is, you have to click the spanner icon when hovering over the sticks

thanks yeah i changed the right dpad to mouse settings and it plays good now constant 60 fps with vsync most of the time but sometimes when there's allot of explosions it drops to 30 it didnt happen until lvl 3 when i used the flame thrower for first time! anyone else had this?

or multiples of it. If it drops below min60, then it will go to avg30.

Also, you are going to suck hard using an xbox controller.

you could try enabling triple buffering which removes the sudden drop in fps but your frame rate will take a bit of a hit as a result.

using a crappy console pad to play a PC fps?!?!?! - erm...... FPS' games are made for PC's - they are SO much better with a mouse and keyboard. Dude, chuck that pad away and man up.

The 360 pad is far from crappy. I agree, it shouldn't be used to play FPS games, but I use mine all the time for games like Burnout, Geometry Wars, Prince of Persia, Trackmania..

It's a great pad for the games you should use a pad for :)

Going to have to get in on this one guys. Horses for courses. I use a mouse & keyboard when I'm at my desk & if I'm having a lazy day I will use a wireless 360 pad from the comfort of my sofa in front of the wide screen. Depends on what you practice with. If you whack the sensitivity on high you can move just as quick with a joypad, just takes a bit of getting used to.
Someone can play just as well with a joypad as someone with a mouse given the time to get used to it.
