** Call of duty ghosts (MW4) **

Unfortunately, I'm not cool enough to hop on the Cod hating bandwagon, so I will no doubt be playing this, and enjoying playing it with my mates.

Exactly this, I'm not sure I will be buying it this year but if your happy playing with your mates then what does it matter?

So many people put far too much effort into hating this series.

visually nothing compares to crysis 3 so what do that matter :p

visually means sod all anyway.... because it's the gaming that counts

you only notice the graphics on really bad games and i havent seen a bad game for years, they all look good now.

Yeah, I still play MW3 from time to time, it's not played online that much anymore and has it's share of hackers but for a quick blast for an hour or so I find it ok.

Id be interested in CoD if they hadnt made the ingame HUD including the crosshair so....child like. Comparing it to BF3, the hud in BF3 is smaller, sleeker and just looks more 'serious'. In CoD you have low-res icons and a massive stupid crosshair.

I wonder - hope - if they change this in Ghosts.

I love crysis 3 but the servers are nearly always empty :( Its a shame

Already? That's a shame because Crysis 2 was my best multiplayer experience this gen, haven't had that much fun with a shooter since Quake.

is it !!!!! because i'd say it's dull and repetative.

there isn't a shooter that's light years ahead, only one game that you favour over another, that's all

I meant it's technology. Love it or hate it but Crytek have done more for this generation of gaming than anyone else as far as technical innovation goes. The visual quality of games in 20 years time will look a fair bit better than they would have had Crytek not popped up.

Not to say COD is bad, I've distanced myself away from the series mainly because of the types of people you encounter online. I loved MW 1 & 2, Black Ops and World at War as games. The series as a whole however is a shining example of a cash cow, that doesn't mean it's bad, but it's put Infinity Ward & Treyarch in a position where they are forced to mass produce sequels for huge profit by Activision. They are not allowed to innovate, and they don't. Nothing at all has changed since CoD 4 except the graphics and the animations are a little smoother. If anything, the series has dropped a little in quality since WaW.

I know that Activision has bent them both over and molested them with the royalties % rate from sales, but surely they are in a position to self publish by now? Unless a contract is holding them in place for x amount of titles, or maybe Activision own the rights to CoD.

Just look at what happens when the minds behind Call of Duty are given creative freedom; Titanfall!

Generic all COD's are the same dig. No but really, the series hasn't really added anything to the genre that other games haven't despite a release every year.

I enjoyed MW3 online briefly, then went back to BF3.

I kinda feel a bit silly speaking about this game, almost everyone I've met on COD were children.

Haven't bothered to pre order this for my PlayStation 4, won't be picking a copy up on PC either.

Really, really fed up with the Call of Duty series.

Battlefield looks good (again), but not enough to warrant a pre order on either the PlayStation 4 nor PC. I think I'm just a bit, 'shootered' out, I enjoyed Battlefield 3 a lot, but didn't pick up much of the later 'dowloadable' content.

I'm actually, probably more fed up of the constant cycle of a new Call of Duty game every year, that seems to me to be a reskinned and poorer multiplayer with a single player story that seems to be an after thought but that has to include huge 'spolsions' and lots of action.

Nah i'll leave it from now on unless they change the engine or make some significant changes. I bought Black Ops 2 and although it was fun at first, quickly realized not long after why i hadn't bought previous copies.
