** Call of duty ghosts (MW4) **

I still play Mw3 a bit but just got BF4 as a few of my mates were getting it, only played a few hours and apart from a sound bug in a map last night and a plugin error at the install(which was ok after installing Chrome) its been good fun, but for me this game is about teamwork and not run & gun, on the other hand COD to me can do both as its just as fun to run as a lone shooter. The thing that really p****d me off about MW3 is most of us bought the DLC maps x4 which were initially good, but try playing them now, you do a search and nothing comes up, you have to disable DLC to get into most servers, I spent the best part of 100 notes to just play the standard maps now, don't get me wrong the standard maps are fun but the DLC is a complete waste of money after time.
I bought COD Ghosts from Game.co.uk yesterday and I should have it for tomorrow morning, can't play it until tomorrow night after work anyway ;)
Thats my take on this anyway but I will be playing both games to death and probably won't get the next round of games if they come out too soon.

Edit: I know COD Ghosts is supposed to have dedicated servers, but I have heard that in the near future there are going to be rented server lists like in Cod 4, if this is true then its going to make a massive difference!

Nvidia put up their guide now so PC NDA must be over.

http://www.geforce.co.uk/whats-new/articles/call-of-duty-ghosts-definitive-pc-version-available-now

Some of those new Nvidia PC screenshots @ 4K look utterly shocking the texture work & lack of detail is staggering for such a high profile release!

Are you new to, lets choose, COD, multiplatform titles on PC....... Activision(is this one an activision COD, I honestly haven't given enough of a **** to know which dev's turn it is to make a worse game?)?

Realistically dev's are still targetting 360/ps3, as with GTA 5, while some work is going into the new consoles they don't want to alienate the older customers today seeing as both the new consoles aren't out and there will only be maybe 10mil(if lucky) ps4/x1 users by the end of next year. Pushing 10mil+ sales and a half a billion income means focusing on current gen consoles.

I'm expecting FAR less of new titles in the next 6 months than most seem to be, particularly your bigger name titles like GTA/Cod as they'll be heavily focused on current gen not pc/next gen.

In 12-18 months it could get really interesting as dev's don't try and make something that looks okay on the 360/ps3 but make something that looks great on the PS4.

Then we've got Activision and COD, I think in 6-24 years time they'll really make something that looks pretty decent on a PS4 :p

Apparently in task manager it only uses between 1-2gb of ram lol you also get a warning if you don't have the min of 6gb. I guess its not very optimized.

Also is it true that 6gb warning prevents you from actually being able to play the game at all?

I have a question about the minimum specs for this game. I used "can you run it" which I know isn't a very scientific measurement of how a pc can handle a certain game...but it gave me a fail result.

I am able to play BF4 with medium settings no problem, is my pc going to handle this game? I'm mostly worried about the 6gb ram which is a REQUIREMENT, will I even run this game?

My Q6600 is at 3.4ghz, this site doesn't take into account overclocking.
Game is confirmed as 6Gb Ram minimum or it will not even launch (for sub par gfx as well ).

I'm not new at all as you know quite the opposite ;) just very surprised 40-50GB HD space gets you this appalling LOD & shoddy texture work

Are they going to release a patch so that people with less ram can start the game?

This is going to be a PR mess for steam, thousands of people wanting refunds because they cant run the game I do not envisage steam will look good in the next few days.

That is ridiculous theres no reason why the game would require that much memory on lower settings.

Between this (various COD issues) and the **** poor BF4 release I'm feeling a bit depressed :S

It's quite hilarious that a console with IIRC 256mb system memory(ps3, 360 has 512 unified?), yet they've shoved a 6gb min on the PC.......... at "console" settings the PC should basically need no more than Windows OS actual minimum + 256mb. I bet it doesn't actually use more than 2gb system memory in usage.

Don't know what they are playing at, there is encouraging people to upgrade their PC by making everything sub 6gb only able to use lower settings(and that would be a complete joke anyway) but flat out refusing to let it run without 6gb system memory is truly laughably awful.

Wonder if the scene guys manage to "fix" the 6gb requirement in start up making the pirated version the only one able to play on the majority of PC's around. I actually don't know what most pc's come with these days, is 8gb standard on a "gaming" PC to buy for a couple years or still 4gb? I've had 8gb for several years now just because of price of 8gb packs when I've upgraded systems more than "needing" it.
