Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Wait….aim assist in multiplayer? Woooow

What's worse is that there are a lot of controller players using things like a Cronus Zen, which can be calibrated to make it even stronger.

COD multiplayer is one of the few FPS games where I see consistent cheating, as in it's not even a debate, as it's so obvious with how sticky their aim is and the lock on snaps.

There definitely aren't a lot - I genuinely think people really do overestimate how common things like this are.

COD has very favourable aim assist, it's not difficult to have sticky aim when you move around.

I guess it depends on your definition of a lot, Cronus have done very well for themselves and sold a lot of units. When even streamers have been caught using them, you know it's a thing.

The sticky aim I'm talking about is nothing like what's built into COD, we're talking godlike tracking that your best pro FPS players have and lock-on snaps that are clearly not natural.

Cheating is absolutely rampant in FPS games, as we saw from that Tarkov video a few months ago, and that's outright hacking with walls and 2D radar. As it's nigh on impossible to cheat in that way on console, players will shift to the next best thing.

Fortunately, a lot of game developers are implementing stuff to detect it but it will likely be bypassed again at some point.

Few things make me feel older than seeing COD's get released with the exact same name as years ago, without any subtitles, just because it's been so long and kids probably don't even know they existed in the first place

I've got a digital key for this with my PS5 today but I really don't know whether to activate it or not. Once upon a time I did used to like CoD multiplayer but these days not sure if I have the patience for it. I guess I should go and watch some gameplay on Twitch first. :p

You've got to love the flaky *** COD servers, fully kitted out with 3 plate vest and large backpack, time out on the game starting = lost everything

Edit - twice, **** off

So I hear it’s doing that thing where it keeps forcing people into matches that are almost finished too.

I’ve also read they have bought back forced reload on empty (and even part empty when switching back to a part used weapon).

Any truth in that?

Also read kicked for inactivity is super harsh and players who are holding an area are being kicked even though they are making kills.

I had MW2 for the PC.

I’m tempted to get MW3 for PS5, I do miss sofa gaming! What is MW like with a controller?

Also, what’s it like for player numbers? I understand it’s crossplay, but surely controlled players get disadvantaged against those on PC?

Aim assist is so strong that controller players often beat mouse and keyboard players now

It's mouse and keyboard who need to turn off cross play. Controller players want to play against PC players because their aimbot is strong

So how are people rating this now they have played a bit?
Better than MW2 by a decent margin - not hard considering MW2 was awful - but it's fun. Maps are brilliant as expected and it's good to have some classic features back like red dots on minimaps etc.

I feel confident in saying this is the worst console experience I’ve ever had. Preordered physical copy on Xbox from a shop ages back. Huge nationwide chain. Picked it up last night on the way home but asked to immediately exchange it for PS5 version so can play with other mates. Computer said no. Felt like the first person to ever do that. Had to purchase the PS5 version and apply to their online team for refund on the other. Shambles.
Anyway, got home and installed, expecting a big patch download on day of release. Standard nowadays. 120g. No probs, was going out anyway so didn’t expect to be playing. In the process of changing internet providers atm and feels like current lot have me on slowdown, even though they probably haven’t. DL was still going this morning when I got up.
Finished all my chores for the day by mid afternoon. Mrs is out shopping, opened a beer and launched the game. Agreed to all the terms without reading them. Can’t remember activision login details. Go to forget password. Server times out. Login and change password on phone, website not compatible with keychain. Angrily change my password to a bunch of random swear words that I’ll never remember followed by the number 1 and an exclamation mark. As you do.
Login on PS5. All good and ready to go. Start campaign. Campaign is missing would I like to go to store and download it? No, I wouldn’t really. I know I’m getting on a bit and a bit old fashioned but kind of expected it to be on the disc or at the very least part of that mammoth patch last night.
Email comes from Sony thanking me for my purchase with a receipt for $0.00. Downloading “campaign pack 1” right now. 12.96gb. Peak time, 4pm Saturday. 16% done in the time it took me to tap this drivel out on my iPad.

Really isn’t worth buying cod physical at all as nothing is ever on the disc that’s worthwhile

Sure it was last one that just had a few mb file on it which was just to verify

Oh my god when did I get awful at shooters on console. I used to be really good.

I can’t aim for ****! Any tips for setting controllers up? Aim is just dreadful
