What mode do you play? It could well be an awful gun in the core mode as it may take too many bullets to drop someone.

I've got a few Assault rifles closer to being gold than I realised so now working on them. Not far off gold with the M4 or the Grau, both just need a few long shot kills. The SCAR just needs a few 3 kill streaks and all of the no attachment kills.

Think this will be the next class i focus on for platinum
 
Do you think Warzone is going to require yet another massive software update or would it have been included in the 70 odd gig I downloaded a week or so ago?

It's a very decent gun, the Grau. Probably my favourite AR even ahead of the Oden.

Recently started using the 10 bullet magazine on the M4A1. It's amazing, single shot kills at most distances!

Could be it, I play normal core. TDM, flags, hardpoint etc. Just a blend of everything. I can see it dropping people in hardcore.

As for gold guns, I REALLY need to start working on challenges, I don't do them actively.
