Yes a few of us seem to be having this issue. About to give michty_me's fix a try to see if it helps. Scroll up a bit to see his post.

Just gave it another go after making those two changes from michty_me's post and this time got onto the main menu without it hanging. had no player model for some reason but fired up a quick play for shoot the ship. Took around 5 mins to find a game which for some reason was 8v2 (never seen that on shipment) so quit out and searched for another game. another few mins later got one that was more evenly balanced in teams and did fine, wasn't stuttering ect BUT at the end the kills I got towards the daily challenges never counted so there's still that issue but at least now it seems playable.
I would't bother trying to unlock things while these issues persist but for a quick blast it so far seems ok.

Anyone noticing the battle pass rank up in WZ taking forever? I seem to be stuck on a tier 47, played about 3 games, won a solo with 11 kills and still haven't budged. Is it a bug or what?!
Good news, I finally found a solution that's working for me and my cousin to fix "crash to desktop with no error".
Just launch game as usual, then alt tab and go to your modern warfare game directory and rename both exe files with a 1 in front like this:
"Modern Warfare Launcher1" and "ModernWarfare1".
Then alt tab back to your game lobby and launch warzone or multiplayer.
You have to do this each time you launch battlenet/Warzone.
Tried about 5 games of Warzone tonight and no crashes for both of us!!
Worked for me all day today - thanks for this - I had many days of crashing out back to desktop - result!

No worries mate, I'm happy it worked for you too. Me and my cousin have been able to play for 2 days straight with no crashes so I'm just pleased we finally found a fix that works!
I found the fix on another forum btw but just thought I'd share it here too for the benefit of the community.

It worked and I was chuffed.
The things I tried were:
While on the desktop, press Windows Key and type CMD.
Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
Type ipconfig /release in the command prompt.
Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been released.
Type ipconfig /renew in the command prompt.
Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been re-established.
Type ipconfig /flushdns in the command prompt.
Type exit.
Then I reduced the power profile in Windows for my CPU to 95%

Then I tried your fix and it worked - I opened the shortcut to Battle.net as administrator - once opened - i pressed PLAY - once I was open - before I joined the game I used the Windows system key to get back to the programme files and renamed those two files with a 1 at the end and loaded the game.
I left the game open all day - just started popped back on when I wanted to play.
So whats happening here? Any ideas? Not tried it today but will report back.

Ahh I see. Thanks for the explanation. Guess i'll start looking into what my 'normal' loadout should be
There are a choice of 10 loadouts. Personally I have different ones for Warzone because I primarily play Hardcore Search and destroy and CyberAttack. For those games I have things like a modded SMG, overkill for 2 weapons, flash grenade and double time.
Warzone I have a higher powered SKS and Sniper in one loadout with HR sensor instead of flash and munitions box.
In another loadout I have just a modded sniper with different perk to overkill and HR sensor.
This way if you drop in from the Gulag with nothing, you can get your two weapons with munitions. If you don't come from Gulag, chances are you have good primary weapon already so can just get your sniper with different perk
I also have a seperate loadout with RPG incase there are vehicles nearby
Warzone, the SMGs are not as effective as Hardcore objective modes because of higher hit damage using armour plates. I think there should be a Hardcore Warzone mode myself, with one one armour plate, not hud, team kill on

Yeah I can now get into the game but things are still sketchy at best. Things like unlocks being tracked or challenges don't work too well at the moment but as long as I am not after unlocking anything I can (mostly) play ok. It still takes ages to get a match and warzone can suddenly lag like hell for no reason but will just have to put up with it till they get it fixed
Can it run loops of Futuremark / other benchmarks like Superposition?
I think COD MW is one of the most GPU stressful games I have played. It loads my 1080Ti up to 99% usage constantly running stock settings (no overclock) I have have an aggressive fan curve (80c - 100% fan) but it still reaches 77c
Cancel out and hit search again and it usually find them quickly for me.
I read that the latest patch has screwed VOIP for either Xbox or PS4 player and a fix was for them to disable crossplay. This would mean for PC players it will take longer to find matches
I have noticed i'm playing with way more keyboard & mouse players now but havent tried Warzone recently. I think the main problem with VOIP was in Battle Royal so that would certainly explain it (lack of console players due to them turning off crossplay to fix voice comms)
They also are turning it off to avoid cheaters.
