Yeah I'm not too sure to be honest.
I keep reading different things.
One place states the render worker count should be the threads the CPU has, Then another states that it is physical cores.

I keep reading the same too - one review / piece of info says threads, another cores. Best not having it at 12 seems as I have 8 cores.

thanks @spluff too

The internet is full of bobbins :D

Personally from my play through, best leave the VideoMemoryScale alone, and give a +1 to the RenderWorkerCount. So if it was 6 before, up it to 7.

yeah agreed - i think the game "should" detect what you have but you never know haha (i would advise if changing hardware deleting that file and let it recreate it)

I think its all guess work from the people suggesting.

I'll probably just revert to what the game suggests and leave as is or give your suggestion a try.

Thats what I had done prior to logging off last night.

When I changes from a 4790k to 5800X it went from

VideoMemoryScale = 0.85
RendererWorkerCount = 2

to

VideoMemoryScale = 0.9
RendererWorkerCount = 7

4 core to 8 core. I'll probably leave it at 7

And another Russian cheater/aimbotter called DonTakBak

Even had a few announcements from Activision saying that two of my reports were banned.

I got bored again this evening so played about with settings again to see if there was any improvement to be had.

When having renderworker count set at 12 I don't seem to get much frames above 100. When set to around 7/8/9 I tend to see it hit around 105 or slightly more withe dips into the mid to low 80's at times.
For the hell of it I changed it to 4, Same area, Looking at the same points, I was able to hit 117fps with dips just under 100.
So for some reason on my laptop (Renoir 4800H 8c16t) it seems to like 4 for whatever reason.

Mine crashes randomly still, but without error messages now :-/

I was getting BSODs with the latest drivers, but rolling back has stopped that.

I'm sure it crashes when I get into rapid gun fights with new people (i.e. they've jumped from a heli). So it's trying to download/render their skins and falls over

So irritating.

I tried again with the following;

VideoMemoryScale = 1.4
RendererWorkerCount = 12

On a 5800X it seems quite smooth but was having a 1 v 1 in boneyard and fps dropped to 60fps. This was certainly noticable and affected the game negatively

Back to the defaults for me

VideoMemoryScale = 0.9
RendererWorkerCount = 7

Where do you change these settings? Which file is it?

Never mind, I found them.
