Call Of Duty: Vanguard

2 quick games of tdm and I was put off enough to unistall it. Felt like a washed out, laggy, stuttery mess that's not even close to Modern Warfare's technical polish.
Beta or not, it looks like it's destined for the bargain bin at some point.

Downloaded the beta, actually quite enjoying it but then I loved COD: WW2 back in 2017, this feels like an updated version of that.

Some of the maps seems to look and run better than others though so hopefully there's some extra polish coming before launch.

That said its really the new Warzone I'm looking forward to!

I don't know how anyone pays £50+ for a COD every year. It's practically the same game year after year. What is annoying is that the game plays best before you have any unlocks. The WW2 weapons felt great with mostly iron sights and higher recoil.

Within a few hours you start unlocking all the attachment and it's back to full auto / no recoil on every weapon.

I want Activision to give a smaller team a budget to play with and allow them to make a slightly slower more hardcore experience FPS. They could probably blow Escape from Tarkov out of the water with a dedicated team assigned to it.

Remove hit markers and OP attachments would be a start.

Sounds like a more hardcore version of Modern Warfare / Warzone.

They could probably even add it as a playlist. More recoil, no aim assist, no scopes, no hit markers, reduced ammo, slower run speed with huge weapons etc.

What's the point in releasing a game thats no better than Modern Warfare (as you say @Viirus the audio is terrible)
Graphically it looks good, but still not as good as Modern Warfare

Modern Warfare looked good but the actual multiplayer gameplay was the most godawful thing I've ever tried. Slow movement, no dead silence, bad maps and SBMM made it the most boring campfest. It was probably a much better experience for people in the lower skill tiers with less sound whoring, and there are ways around SBMM, but it was still too slow and boring IMO.

I don't get the hate for Vanguard, the WW2 theme makes a nice change since the last one was 4 years ago, and the fundamental gameplay looks promising. It will also have Zombies from Treyarch which makes it worth getting in and of itself.

Maybe because im a lowly skilled peasant :D

I would enjoy Vanguard a lot more if the audio was better

I don't see half the problems you have with it, especially not in hardcore mode. Dead Silence is now a field upgrade and it lasts pretty long if you use it correctly and the SBMM is great the only drawback is how long it can take to find games sometimes.

It's by far the best CoD in years, probably since MW2

Well that's the Beta done; really enjoyed it as I've played it; hadn't realised its actually Nov 5th until its out so still some time for bugs and issues to be ironed out.
Made me dip back into Cold War MP tonight for the first time in about 9 months (Warzone has sucked up my time) really enjoying it again so I think Vanguard will be a Day 1 buy for me.... as will BF2042.....

I actually enjoyed this more than I expected as not enjoyed a cod game in years. I liked you could select tactical pacing. Playing console players with aim assistance was a bit of a farce at times though.

Are you suggesting that controller users with aim assist have an advantage over someone using a mouse?

From watching killcams in Cold War multiplayer, aim assist in CoD is a bit strange for sure. It's like a soft aimlock at times and you can see it in action easily when watching killcams. If controller users weren't given some assists, they would get destroyed by mouse users so I understand why it needed to happen but it certainly looks like it could be toned down a little. Thing is with things like that, it's either too good or not good enough and finding a balance is hard.

It is a bit of a farce to match controller users with mouse users, but for the opposite reason to what you believe. A top level mouse player will be able to aim substantially faster and more accurately than a top level controller user with aim assist. If a good controller player is getting the better of you it's not because they have an unfair advantage :D.

I agree on some aspects of what you say (quicker and more accurate) but not all. It's game specific and I've seen pro players mention things about what I'm talking about too.

I'll just agree to disagree (although I agree mostly) and go on about my day as tbh, I don't really care as it's not like I struggle against controller users and do fine against mouse users, just I notice aim assist on killcams quickly if it's a controller.

What are you basing that on? I haven't used a controller in any modern FPS but I've seen some content creators try it and immediately get good results, and heard from a lot more people that the aim assist is very strong in MW. I've also watched videos of good controller players and they look as good as all but the VERY best m + kb players that I've seen.
Your statement suggests that it would not be possible to implement aim assist which could out aim a good mouse player, which is not true. Whether that's what has happened or not is a question that I can't answer.

there is no comparison with no hard aim assist like they have in warzone only the very best controller players could hold there own against decent mouse and kb players but thats about it

add the same level of aim assist to a mouse players game and everyone else might as well go home

but as you know mouse and keyboard gets none

from the vids I have watch you move anywhere near the head and it snaps/slows nearly instantly
