Calling wedding photographers.

One word of advice, don't lean on anyone who does photography as a hobby.

Some people are happy taking photographs as a hobby, but putting any burden on them to work to a standard is too much. I had someone who repeatedly asked me to shoot their wedding despite me not being willing to do it.

I now haven't touched my cameras in 6 months, and they'll probably be going on the members market in the next week.

So an OcUKer approached you then? :p

Such is the market for "cheap" prices with wedding photography sadly. While there are photographers who charge half as much as ones who operate from the high street and produce far better work, there are a greater number who do so and produce just average, or below average work.

It's simple, pick someone who produces consistent quality images and sticks to a style you like.

It's not always photographers either, some customers can be a handful too. Someone once wanted to pay in £50 instalments... :o

And ask if they have 10+ bookings on the go!

What has that got to do with anything?

I've got 2 next year, weekend pro and work full time.

I'm £600 for the day, always turn around in 2 weeks for them to be ready after the honeymoon, provide a DVD + slideshow to first dance music. Always take pride in my work, tax registered and insured.

number of bookings means nothing. A lad local to me has 12 bookings, he uses a £300 entry level camera, no primes, no strobes, no insurance but does them for £200 + an album + a cd. Even his boss, a friend of mine, says they are ****
