£55 Upgrade to i7.

Not sure if the motherboard is capable of x8x8 Xfire.

Also not sure about case would it fit everything or more fans?

those components are cheaper when bought separately.
No, not this time:
The i7 920 4.0GHz overclocked bundle is on offer. With £45 off and price now at £506, it is cheaper than buying the parts separately and the 4.0GHz pre-overclock comes free! (i7 920 £180+Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R £157+Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel £140+Titan Cooler £30+Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound £7=total £514!)

yes that board has crossfire, top two slots are 16x, bottom two are 8x.

its reviewed in this months custom pc mag.

excellent score of 91%

and marine is correct.

buy the pre-overcloked bundle.

the worrying bit is done for you!

you need the antec in your spec too.

Yea, need to get the Antec 650W PSU.

Personally I think I would prefer (if for myself) the Antec 300 case. The layout is better with the PSU placed at bottom instead of at top, and there's already a fan at rear top and rear (out-take). Price is like £1 more, but can add two 120mm fans to the front as well, which cost another £12 for two fans.

If you are not comfortable with the i7 920's build price, you could always fall back to the AMD's build option. But if you can afford (without having to sell your organs for it lol), the decision should be simple.

don't think it matters to much where the psu is positioned.

they mount them at the bottom of most cases because there is usually a large fan in the way at the top.

the zalmans third fan is on the side, not blocking the psu mount.

my ATCS840 can have the psu in the top or bottom.

The £799 AMD build how long would that last before being too far behind?

I know nobody can tell the future but ideally?

Are you going to go for the Zalman case?? If so the £40 saving over the Coolermaster case means you maybe able to get the Phenom II X6 1055T into the £800 build budget. It is around the £165 to £170 price mark it seems and is being released next week.

In software which uses three cores and less the processor will run three cores at 3.3GHZ(and run down the other cores to 800MHZ) whereas if the software uses all six cores the processor will run at 2.8GHZ.

some people have already got them.

they have posted results in other forums.

the fact it has to slow cores down just to reach a paltry 3.3ghz is sad, the results posted look totally weak.

the 955 runs its four cores at 3.2 already.
