Can anyone solve my Wi-Fi issues?

Ok...So...

Did everything you suggested. I Put security to WPA2-PSK, set a very easy 16 digit password, and set it to AES. I restarted the laptop, and took out the ethernet cable, I went to manage wireless networks, and removed the WLAN_B266 that was there. I then went to add, and manually put in the SSID and the password, and triple checked it and ticket connected manually. I completed and waited, nothing happen, so opened available wireless networks, click on ours, and pressed connect...nothing :( Came back as unable to connect.

Bugger!

Whats next on the ideas list haha?

I had a router that was doing exactly what yours is doing and it ended up being a faulty router. Replaced the router and it worked straight away with the exact same settings that would not work on the old one.

How awkward would it be to replace the router?

Urm, Im not sure haha. I can just imagine shopping for an ADSL router over here, trying to get my Mum to translate all the techincal bits of information, and screwing it up and buying a second useless router.

Im not sure if the provider would provide another one, if nothing else works I might have to choice but to crack out the translator on the iphone and give them a peice of my mind! haha

Ive still got my fingers crossed that there is still hopefully a solution that someone could find!!

Ok so more information on the current saga.

So the router they are using is pretty new, as my Mum JUST remembered she still had the old router, that there was nothing wrong with. So dug it out, and its pretty much the same router just a bit bigger, and without the WPS option. It doesnt actually have a model number on the base of it. I plugged it in, and just as before, can connect direct to it from an ethernet cable. It wasnt showing as available wireless, so went into the settings with the same username and password. Enabled the wireless and it appeared. Tried setting a WPA2-PSK...got the same not able to connect error. Tried leaving it open, and same again.

So....Im pretty sure they BOTH arent faulty with the exact same problem. There has to be something in the settings that is stopping me here, as both of these routers, and even though made by the same company for telefonica, they are slightly different, but wont let me connect via the WiFi.

So...I guess Im at a complete loss. Does anyone have any new suggestions as to what we can try to get one of these buggers connected??

The only consistant I seem to see, is when I go to diagnostics (like the original screenshot I put up) The only thing that got a FAIL on the first router was 'Ping Default Gateway' I obviously have no idea what this is, however...this also FAILS on the second older router. I dont know if this is anything though!

If you like. We can setup a remote assistance and I can take control of the laptop and try and do it for you. You basically watch everything that goes on. After reading through all the posts. My guess is there's an issue with the laptop rather than the router, especially if two of them aren't working. Then again have you tried it with all three laptops to connect?

If you want to setup a remote assistance, email me in trust.

N.B. if this is against forum rules, I apologise in advance.

So...a quick update!!

So after Buchanan very kindly helped out, an answer seems to have revealed itself!

So I saw Buchanan was playing around with the settings, and he went to wireless -> Advanced, and changed the channel setting, from number 3 to number 11, however, didnt save this...Which I didnt think twice about until after he went. Once he had to go, I did exactly the same thing, saved it...and just like that...the WiFi is up an running!

I kinda hope it wasnt something this easy after 2 days of me playing, and everyone involved in this thread taking time out of their day to help out, but either way, thank you everyone who offered help and support...Without you guys, there isnt a chance this WiFi would be up and running, and chances are some windows would have been damaged from me chucking various routers right through them!

So thanks again, and this is exactly why I will always come back to this forum daily!

To be honest I didnt even think twice about you not saving it, just assumed you didnt need to. I was just playing around, so thought I would try it. If I didnt see you try it, I would have left it alone...so full credit to yourself my friend!

Ah well played guys - glad it was sorted.

I suppose it's better to have thought for 2 days rather than admit defeat after 2 minutes and buy new hardware...
