Hi al
U have the samsung 256gb 840 pro SSD with my operating system in it
And 2 x 1 tb Hdds in a raid

Now on samsung magican software its saying AHCI mode is disabled but it says AHCI mode needs to be enabled for best SSD performance.
But can I enable that with my 2 hdds being in a raid I dont want it to effect them

Also I need to know how to setup this ssd caching thing

If SATA ports are set to raid then it should run in ahci for the ssd anyway as raid includes ahci drivers

Install latest Intel rapid storage drivers and choose with drives to cache/accelerate

sorry for the late reply

Yes my 2 x 1 tb hard drives are setup in a raid

so do I need to change anything or will my SSD be running in AHCI

as far as I know my SSD is running as the cache/accelerate drive

no you'll be fine, just add in the ssd and install windows to it,dont include it in the current array

trim will work fine

for caching then your ok aswell, just accelerate the raid

EDIT: actually im not sure what you wanna do or whether you can cache with an os on the same ssd?

well I got told that yes I could use the SSD ( with os installed on it) as a cache for the raid ( 1 x 1tb hard drives). but for some reason their is no acceleration tab
