Can I change the stripe size without loosing data?

What's the best firmware to flash to on the Perc 5/i and how do I go about it? I looked on the LSI website and downloaded the 8408E stuff.

EDIT: Figured it out now. :D

Perc card arrived and trying to get it running properly. I've noticed my drivers for Disk Drives on the Perc are pretty old, are there newer ones? I can't find anything myself.

I flashed the card to an LSI 8408E card and then updated the drivers to LSI ones from Feb of this year. I can't think what else might be giving me slow read and write speeds?

Here's some pictures:

This picture shows the Microsoft drivers for the Disk Drives bit.
If you look below at the Storage controllers part on this picture (past the Disk Drives bit circled in red) you can see the LSI Logic 8048E instance, that is running LSI drivers from Feb this year.

Can anyone tell what might be up?

I ended up leaving the machine on overnight, not doing anything other than sitting there in the hope it was initialising but there's no change this morning.

When I configured the hard drives I pressed CTRL-R to enter the Perc BIOS and then configured my disks. I didn't do an initialisation on them, just added them to an array. Then I restarted and the Vista X64 setup picked them up correctly and installed.

Now when I ask it to initialise it says all data will be destroyed if I do this. Have I messed up because I should have initalised my array when I set it up?

Still fighting with this, think it's basically sorted now! ATTO shows the following:

which *I* think looks about kind of right.

HDTune and HDTach both report back around 200Mb/s read which I think is a bit low?

I had the same problem with my new 6400AAKS based array. I think the default block size that HDTune and HDTach use is too low to get the best out of bigger arrays. You can't change it in HDTach but you can in HDTune, try upping it from 64K to 1Mb or so and see if it makes a difference.
