Can I get nicked for taking a lock knife to be sharpened?

If you have a box or case for it put it in that when transporting, if you do get stopped it will be less suspicious than the bare knife stashed in the glove box or something.

Just don a Chef's hat and take them to be sharpened. If anyone ask's just tell them "CAN'T YOU SEE THE HAT !" then stroll off as if nothing ever happened

Will only work if you have a French accent and a ridiculous moustache (speaking from experience here...)

A: You'll be fine, they're going to be more worried about the 10 inch chefs knife that would amputate a leg in a pinch.

B: Get a set of stones and do it yourself, it's not at all difficult to sharpen knives.

This and take a rucksack and have all the knives together in there, you want as much defence as possible if you are stopped, having it in your pocket in easy reach doesn't look good.

This and also if you can, put a small padlock on the zippers, to show you are taking reasonable precautions to secure said knives too

Why would you get stopped in the first place? You must be fairly dodgey looking to worry about completing a simple task

Just put them in a bag if you get stopped you say im getting them sharpened.

To put your mind at rest, contact your local force and explain your concerns. I'm sure it will be fine.

From the information you have a reasonable excuse to have these in a public place, however, I would suggest that you keep them out of public view and wrapped in some way, in which case it's unlikely you'll have to explain your reasonable excuse as nobody will be the wiser.

Common sense is required in this situation OP, you won't get in any trouble if you don't do anything stupid, if you need clarification get someone else to take your knives for sharpening.

Also the chances of getting stopped at all are very slim.
