Can i run on ultra?

Well if I used the first build would it run the games on ultra WITHOUT recording?

Idleman's last build is better. If you can't stretch the budget that far, either ditch the SSD for now or get a 270X instead of the 280X and add a £30 CPU so you can overclock a bit.

Not really, a 7970 can't max every game out, you're expecting to do so from a 7870 essentially.
It's a good set up, but it's mid range (Except the SSD)

And DayZ isn't going to be great on the FX6300, you'll need to overclock it.

Should do. Might be around the 30-45fps range.

Why the obsession with ultra? I have a 780 and only run on high. Game still looks and plays great. Fps is more important to me than looks though. Each to their own.

Ok if i ditch the asrock, ssd and cpu and got

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor

MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Patriot Intel Extreme Master, Limited Ed 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Western Digital RE3 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

It means i have £40-£50 to go towards something else to meet my budget

Don't know if I'd put that board with that CPU, I'd get a beefier board.

Get the FX83 it's cheaper.

Do I? Dumb question - how so? I was under the impression that an 8320 would be fine with a 780?

Your CPU's holding your GTX780 back in the vast majority of games.
In the newer games, say BF4, you're fine, no bottleneck.

But someone with an i5 4670K and GTX780 will be getting better frames, more consistent frames to boot in the vast majority of games.
Unless you're gaming at 2560x1440/1600 etc.

The 8350 is kinda pointless, just overclock the FX8320.

Ah ok, thanks for that. I was running a 660 until recently, I only realy play BF4 and older games.

Food for thought will be upgrading the cpu in the next 12-14months.

Second hand 2600/mb/ram bundle and more money on the new GPU and, maybe you will be closer to your dream of running on ultra while recording

Will be going intel so a new CPU & MOBO will be on the cards, didn't at the time of purchase because I got a great deal on the FX over a 3570k & 4670k.

Are you getting the NZXT or the Zalman case? Relevant for cooler choice.

An h100 isn't custom watercooling; it requires no maintenance or anything like that. They're much easier to set up than big heatsinks.
