Can my HDD be causing game freezes?

Hey there.
So i recently did a fresh install of windows, put my os on the new SSD and kept my 1tb as a Gaming HDD for non problematic games and an SSD for problematic ones (i.e load times, access etc)

However past few days theres been freezes going on in games installed on the HDD, its happened in Kane & Lynch, Bullestorm, Half Life 2 and a few others.

It happened regularly in the same places in HL2 before i moved it to the ssd, it did it a lot when playing TF2 until i moved it to the SSD, it froze for a good second or two on both K&L, Bulletstorm and DmC lately, but i havent been able to recreate that problem today (although last night i did defrag my harddrive and the problem hasnt come back up... yet, still early hours for me)
It has happened once every time i've played Hitman, havent moved that to an SSD yet, but that seems to always happen like 20 paces into a level and never again. and its happened randomly on Ultra SF4 aswell, that is also on the HDD, which i previously installed on the SSD and never had the problem. Also happened once or twice on F3AR.

I've ran Memtests and no problems, no temp problems, no clocks dropping or anything, everythings performing solid.

I have Sleeping Dogs installed on the HDD and that hasnt had that problem, nor has the original Kane and Lynch,

I ran CrystalDisk and saw this.

I will be sure to post here if it happens on any more games that are installed on my HDD

*Would probably be good to note its only video games that do it, and only ones ive seen on my HDD, i've never had windows lock up, or a program fail, and windows is on an SSD and my programs are on a, technically slower RPM harddrive but only 250gb.

Check windows system event log for anything hdd related

I'm on it but i dont understand a majority of it.

Thought i would update and say i defragged last night, and since then the problem hasnt reoccured, so i dont know if that helped or not, i'm hoping it has.

Gonna move TF2 over to the HDD and test if it does it again, i havent defragged in a month n a half / two months since i got the ssd and filled it quite a lot so hopefully it helped.
