Can overclockers do this?

Sorry I did not know where to put this but I just brought a new rig. The motherboard was B-grade from overlockers and I put everything together but the graphics card is not powering on nor is the usb ports, everything else powers on. Also when I power it on, it switches ON, then OFF pauses for 1 second, then powers ON and stays ON. This is my first DIY so not sure if its the B-grade motherboards fault or if I have plugged something in wrongly.

However am just wandering if overclockers provides this service; if I send them my whole rig - can they do a once over and check if everything is okay and fix what needs fixing and then send it back to me?

I would phone and ask but its bank holiday

Thanks everyone.

What board have you got? Some boards will power on and then off before fully booting when it's a 'cold' boot i.e first time plugged into power.

Turns out they sent me a faulty motherboard. I am actually really annoyed with this service, they waisted a lot of my time. Although they did offer to send me a replacement - though this will be a long process first I have to find the time to send it back to them then wait for them to send me a new one. Just poor service. Really annoyed.

Since we have very little info about the rest of the specifications, it could be something as trivial as a B-grade board that hasn't got the correct BIOS update to allow a newer processor to post

Which it did not. I even phoned them before purchasing. I just think Andarial does not understand what quality customer service is.

Sometimes these things are missed - that doesn't mean they have bad customer service. They've already said they'll swap it out for another. Bad customer service would be not replying and deleting all your posts that imply their service is bad

I think that's unfair - OcUK have always provided good service in mine and most other's experience, and certainly in the last few years OcUK have made great strides to improve their customer service.

B-Grade can be something of a lottery - in some cases user reported faults just cannot be reproduced (e.g. not exactly the same components available to test). Or a user returns an item (as claims to have changed mind) and has to then be sold as B-Grade - the retailer has already taken a loss, can you blame them for then not spending too much further time/money testing for any other faults?
On the other hand, there can be some great bargains - cheap cases and the like with minor cosmetic damage or missing screws, GPUs that are cheaper as have been returned for coil whine that may only occur in conjunction with a specific model of PSU.

You still haven't stated what hardware you are having issues with, but reading through some of your other posts/threads suggest you don't have much experience with regards to PC building, so it could easily be a mistake on your part?

Ever heard of quality checks?

Although rarer these days, sometimes parts come DOA. The item may have been marked as B-grade since it was opened but no one has ever used it, so no one knew it was faulty since leaving the factory. It's not unheard of for fragile items (i.e. Electrical components in say, a motherboard) to be damaged somewhere in transit.

It's standard practice for faulty items to be returned and inspected before replacements are sent. There are customers that damage the items, intentionally or otherwise and it makes business sense to verify this. Sure, some places may send the replacement first but that's exceptional and not the norm. Whether it's OCUK or another company I usually pay upfront for a replacement to be sent and then ask for a refund when the faulty product is processed. I'm financially out of pocket for a short period but I'm impatient and use my PC daily so I'll happily take a hit to minimise downtime.

I once ordered 6 pairs of RAM. All the same make and model. Two of the pairs, with very close batch numbers were DOA. Likely batch issue, maybe at factory or during transit. It happens...
