I think the OP has a good point.

Next time I spend good money on a crap game (because I was too dumb to read reviews or play a demo), and decide, for some reason, to play all the way through that crap game anyway, and therefore waste all that electricity, I'll underclock and undervolt to offset it. Great idea!

This is what I was getting at.

If you are only worried about cost then electricity (in terms of playing a game) is lower than getting the game in most cases.
If you are worried about the environment then what about packaging? If you downloaded the game, have you done a full cradle to grave? What about the petrol the developers used getting to the office each day?
 
I would be more concerned with wasting of my time if a game was Gash
rather than how much lecy it cost , remember it's time you can NEVER get back

Always assumed this thread was a post count booster to get him over the 250 needed for free postage.
Still 6 weeks later and it still get replies, can't be that bad a thread topic.
 
One thing's for sure, rubbish threads can be a waste of my time.
