Can someone explain the PvP rules on a PvE server

I did before I even replied to this thread. Unfortunately, this type of behaviour really needs to be watched over a period of time, and as individual posts won't necessarily seem like trolling.

but he said nothing about eve, he asked a simple question about how you where punished for losing in PvP.

It was someone else that made the jump to EVE, im a current EVE player, and i never made the jump.

acording to a Video interview with the BBC one of the Developers i assume it was said it the average age of Eve players is 27 and the interviewer said "so its not a game for kids?" to which a reply of "no its aimed at adults" or somthing.

It has a younger audience because it's popular, they'll hear about the MMORPG from mainstream press/word of mouth and want to check it out. I agree with you on why it's popular, not that it's a bad thing either.

Despite criticism from some fans of other MMORPGs WoW is here for the next few years at least and for some reason people need to knock its popularity perhaps because it it is popular amongst younger gamers.

This is what I thought, but it simply doesn't fit with what I've experienced. And I'm now getting some of my friends who I introduced to the game asking me the same question. These are low-level new players who wouldn't even know how to enable PvP, yet they're getting picked off by ?? Alliance in the middle of Durotar! It's really ruining the game for them.

I'm on the Alonsus realm, which I am assured is a PvE, or "Normal" realm.

The only ?? i have ever seen in WoW was NPC's whos levels where too high for me to see.

Eve is so boring, bland and dull. Want reward out of it? Wave goodbye to your social life then. It's not the same for WoW. And please don't play the 'raiders' card, because casuals get reward out of the game now, which isn't the case with Eve.

That might be considered more of an attraction than anything else. World of Warcraft is plenty time consuming as well.

I think it would be folly to compare the two games (although I've been an active player of both at various points in the past). One thing I CAN say on the other hand is that I was never, ever verbally abused by ill-mannered juveniles in the Eve universe.

What a crock

wow is the biggest grind model out there. Be it pvp or pve. The whole game is gear based. Eve (I havnt played at length) isnt gear based.

Tbh I agree with him. I played Eve and found it incredibly dull. Thats irrelevant though, because different people like different games. I too wish we could get a decent WoW thread here without all the Eve players coming in and slagging it off

I knew he was an EVE player as well, why? because ive seen him comment in other threads. Its not like your memory of every poster gets wiped when you look at a new thread! Im sure you knew he was an EVE player before this thread was even created.

I stand by my comment that what he said never had anything to do with EVE, he was simply asking a very simlpe question!
