Hi guys

i have a Peugoet 307 1.4 S 54 plate with 27000 miles, i was hoping that someone can give me an estimation for it?

I am looking to buy a Ford Mondeo ST220 hopefully the facelift version (2004 version)

would £9000 buy me a tidy model?

yes it would from trade sales etc but up until the st focus arrived ithe tdci st variant was the quickest accelerating st of any model!!!!

The st220 sounds lovely but i would go for the tdci, quicker,a hell of a lot more economical and doesent leak more oil than it retains!!!

This is, of course, completely false.

The ST TDCi is not quicker than the ST220. It is noticeably down on both power and acceleration. The ST220 does not leak oil in ordinary circumstances.

Why would you lie like this?

excellent news

hmm are there any things i should look out for if i was to buy it?

dont really think there is anything too common problem wise with these, except checking boot seals, that it is the facelift with the 6 speed box, and what options it has, most come as standard but the popular additions were xenons and parking sensors. Other than that I dont believe there is too much to look for problem wise, oh except maybe saggy rear bumpers.

It would be nice to receive critisism from other ford dealer master technicians!not mis informed internet surfers and those who still beleive that diesel engines are still in the dark ages as opposed to cutting edge combustion technology that they are now.

To [tw]fox the st tdci was the quickest accelerating st before the focus with a 0-60 of 7.9 secs official but at the ford 'blue' test days this was greatly reduced by as much as .5 of a second by the test driver!
power means nothing, that is the reply of someone who is again mis informed, yes 155 bhp is less than the 226 official of the mondeo but the 400+ ft pounds of torque is what makes the differance!

to berger and mark davis and mjt please see above.

and to willd58,why would i lie,i have no need to its a bit strong but if thats your thing!

regards,eg_esi... ford master technician, ata diagnostic technician and i.m.i fellow.

400+ lbs-ft of torque? ROFL! I think you're getting mixed up with the likes of the BMW 6cyl twin-turbo diesel engines ;)

official figures for the ST TDCi 0-62 is 8.7 seconds compared to the 7.6 seconds on the ST220

Last time i looked the 0-60 of the ST220 was 6.8 ? even at 7.5 its still slower

and last time i looked, the full 295lb ft of Torque on the ST Tdci was only available briefly on acceleration. Its normally 265 lb ft (about 360 NM) not exactly the 400 + you describe

No offense, but you seem remarkebly uninformed for a "master technician"

that is also a great + to the tdci over the 220.Easy power increases, with almost zero decernable fuel economy drop.A simple remap with rail pressure upped, boost upped accordingly and combustion timings tweaked is all it takes.

The dual mass flywheel may spit out its dummy but the solid flywheel and clutch setup from the tranny will cure this and lower the 0-60 times as well, how do i know because i have physically done it!!
