Can someone help me setting up new raid please

Hi

I am looking for some kind person to give me step by step instructions to installing raid on my new motherboard Abit IP35 Pro XE with 2 seagate barracuda 7200.11 500gb sata 2 drives.
I have only ever setup a system before on seperate sata ports non raid and a little confused as to how you set raid up properly would someone please be kind enough to give me step by step guide please. :confused:
 
It's much easier if you're using Vista over XP.
Read your motherboard manual, bu basically here's what you need to do:

1. Decide whether you want RAID0 (stripe) or RAID1 (mirror).
2. Connect two of the same hard drives in the PC.
3. Access the BIOS and enable RAID (can't remember specifically where this is but read your manual - it will explain).
4. Once RAID is enabled, when the PC restarts you'll be prompted to access the RAID utility (Ctrl & I on that board I think) here you will need to make both the drives Members Disks of the array, and also choose whether you want Stripe or Mirror - it's pretty straight forward.
5. Once thats done, exit and install windows as normal. If you're on Vista the drivers will be loaded automatically. If you're using XP, you need to put the RAID drivers from the motherboard driver CD onto a floppy and hit "F6" when prompted to load RAID drivers.

Yes mate thanks a million , just installed 2 brand new seagate 500gb sata 2 drives in raid 0 :)
I have installed intel chip drivers but do i need the intel raid drivers for vista 64 from abit website ?
Everything running lovely and got 5.9 in windows rating :)
