Can someone please help me make my CPU throttle to 1.6GHz when idle...please lol

how would I set the offset voltage to achieve that? thats what i been trying to work out

Find out the stock voltage of your chip by running at stock and then use offset to make up the difference, so if your CPU is 1.05V stock you use an Offset of "+0.15V" 1.05V+0.15V=1.2V.

Looking at your screenshot you probably have to set "CPU Vcore" so that "Dynamic Vcore (DVID)" becomes active and then that should have +/- options.

ok guys..here we go, something is just not playing ball here.

I've just set the chip back to stock, 35 multi with turbo disabled. Ive set vcore to normal to find default voltage, opened up cpuz as you can see when chip is idle, its not throttling down to 1.6GHz, it seems to stay at 3.5GHz. Now the weird thing is, it does flash to 1.6GHz for not even half a second, then it just goes back to 3.5GHz.

Reset the BIOS and ensure Windows is on balanced and see if that works. Otherwise maybe see if there's a BIOS update.

There's no point putting it to stock to workout what offset you need because the llc will bump up the voltage ontop

All you needed to do was to copy the settings for 4.6ghz and try two to three clicks more dvid voltage,and set CPU/vtt to 1.10v from stock 1.05v due to running 16gb

yeah i just found that out lmao.

Set it to stock, worked out I needed .100 offset to take it to 1.2v. So then upped it to 4.6GHz ran OCCT and saw my chip now hitting 1.4V Vcore i **** myself.

Just lower the dvid now till you reach around 1.35v,then start testing for stability and adjust dvid to suit

Got it and its now throttling down to 1.6GHz..back at 4.6GHz now Wazza, but when stresssing those settings are giving me 1.28v which I dont need nowhere near that because I know this chip is prime stable at 4.6GHz @ with only 1.2v. So now it's just a case of dropping the dvid bit by bit till i get back down to 1.2v. All good now, im very pleased.

You might use slighty more with offset/dvid vs a fixed CPU v,you'll need to test

It depends on each CPU,for me It doesn't use more

i shall see how it goes..will do some gaming at 1.2v and if it bums me out, then will just give it a bit more. All good mate, forward progress and can now understand whats happening.
