Also would require finding a used 5850/6870/460/560 for £50-60.

The Intel build would be better for games that are not multi-threaded, like WoW.

The AMD would be better for games like BF3 etc.

Edit: Oh and the AMD would overclock much better, just need to add a £25 cooler later on.

Ok, you'll want the AMD build. I'd change it slightly. If you can push the budget a little higher, the 8320 will give better performance in games like BF3, Crysis 3, BF4. (The 8320 is £120)

someone on here spec me this would it work if i put it together and tried to play straight away without over clocking or would i have to over clock it as soon as i built it.

wanted third party opinion please

I wouldn't go for the APUs if you want to play games like Crysis 3 and BF4. You'd be playing everything at low settings. It'd be better to get an FX-6300 system and a £40 2nd hand graphics card, then upgrade the graphics card later. You may have to save a bit to push the budget a little higher, but it'd be worth it.

It would work, but would get far less FPS in the games you play than the 6300 + used GPU option for the same money.

It would look more "bling" than the other spec's if that's important to you :D

Quite a bit less, even without the better GPU taken into consideration. Take this benchmark:

Ignoring the graphics, as they're the same here, the APU would perform a little worse than the FX-4300.

Budget spec = Budget board :p

I've read it should be ok for a moderate 6300 OC?

Any better alternatives for the same sort of price?

It's only £30 more for the good one though. The board's not designed at all for the FX series so I'd just avoid it generally. The MSI at £5 more is a better choice for a low budget system, as it's got a heatsink on the VRMs -- MSI released it mainly for that. The Asus EVO R2.0 is the best board under £100 really for the 8320.
