If you calibrate the monitor yourself then tile 1 should just about be barley discernible with comfortable gamma and contrast settings.

Though Monitors made in the last couple of years such as HDR have really aggressive contrast and gamma enabled as their factory default that will change the levels automatically on dark scenes regardless of your own settings.
