My mum passed away 10 months ago and we are looking to buy her a memorial for her and my Grandma and Grandad.

We can have a 7x5 picture plaque placed on the memorial and so I went off to look for a photo of the three of them. This was the best picture that we could find and shows everyone smiling and happy on a summers day.

I've scanned it in but am not skilled enough to fix it.

I would be ever so grateful if someone where able to enhance the picture and produce a better crop bearing in mind it's intended purpose. I would guess a head and shoulder crop of them all would be ideal if possible.

Anyway here's a resized version and below it is the original scanned version.

Thanks for giving it a go. I will have a play with the scanner as I've not really used it since I got it. It's a canon CanoScan 4400F so will see what it can do!

Im so so sorry to hear about you lose! I know it must be such a hard thing to go through! Ive given it all my best for you and this was done on photoshop 7. I have the full version as well if you would like it!
Take care and best wishes :)

Ive tried to remove the colour cast. and to remove the shadows on your grand parents faces. But because the quality was so low, when i tried to restore the detail it wasnt really possible, and as such im not sure if this is to soft now.
I have left the dimesnions as they were so you can crop how you want too.

If you can wait till im at work (weekend) where i have a much better computer i can texturise their faces with real skin, and enhnace the detail a lot further hopefully.

I have al the psd files if you want higher res

OK the original was at 300dpi and I have now done it again at 1200dpi. The resulting jpg is 10mb and can be found here *Updated after cleaning glass on scanner!

Hope this is a better source image and thanks again for all those willing to help

Slightly too airbrushed on the faces on that one. Maybe try get rid of the kind of haze over the image too, darken/lighten areas.
