Can You Help?

I would suggest considering the HD 4870 1GB, as it's faster than the GTX260, and has a bit more RAM for higher res.

Also, you won't need a new PSU, that hiper 680 is more than enough for whatever card you get. :)

Yeah either get a 4870 1GB or a GTX280, it silly not to spend an extra £13 for a GTX280 over a GTX260.

will those POV cards still be in stock on saturday, when ill actually be able to order, also i want to go Nvidia, so no ATI for this girly XD, and i only play at 1680x1050...and i was told id need new PSU for GTX 280...

TBH they probably won't be in stock come Saturday :(

Your current PSU will be fine, although I would change it. I dislike Hiper.

i dont have the monies to change PSU just yet, its only running

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 4094MB RAM (GeIL Black Dragon)
Hard Drives: 500 GB Seagate Barracuda + 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT OC (MSI NX8800GT)
Monitor: ViewSonic 22" Widescreen
Keyboard: Logitech G15 Rev.2
Mouse: Roccat Kone
Mouse Surface: Roccat Sense (Adrenalin Blue)
Motherboard: ASUS M2N-SLi Deluxe

Your PSU will run your setup with a GTX280 :)

My point was just like you only want a Nvidia card, I dislike Hiper, and therefore won't buy their stuff.

The current GTX260 is built on a 65nm fab, the one being released tomorrow is on a 55nm fab. The reason some of the GTX260s are cheap is because they are being sold in order to clear space for the new stock. The new 55nm parts are cheaper to produce, and run cooler. I believe they will be priced the same/similar.

OCUK have a 65nm GTX260 @ £206.99 at the moment if you are still set on one :)

Won't be much faster, and you can always overclock the standard speed ones to those speeds and beyond.

Id only get the BFG if you want the longer warranty tbh, as that OcUK 260 is a cracking price. :)

They'll be fine, my 6000X2 runs a 8800GTX fine at your resolution, so I wouldn't worry :)

Although technically, it might hold back the GTX260 a little bit, but nothing you would notice in reality, only in benchmarks.
