Can you run it - System test. Can you run all 8,500 games?

mine says 98% and 78%

4670k 980ti and 8gb ram. (2015/2016 was when I built it)

some of the games it says I don't meet the minimum requirements for I've played though.

it says I can't run witcher enhanced because I don't have a DVD, says I can;t play bannerlord 2 but It runs great....

apparently I can;t run rust because my CPU ain't good enough but it runs at over 100fps.....

the whole thing is stupid you don't need an i7 to play rust.... my cpu is actually @4ghz too even window sees that

there's not a single game out I wouldnt be able to play unless it refuses to launch when it detecs only 8gm of memory, never seen it happen.

apparently I can;t run resident evil 8 because i don't have an i5-7500

erm that cpu is a 4core cpu @ 3.4ghz which is actually the same as a stock 4670k and it benchmarks it's like 2% faster compared to a stock 4670k.
but mines at 4ghz so yea i can play resident evil 8......

My old PC with a R9 390 + i7 4770K could run 99% of games on 'minimum', so it's useful to compare, and maybe as a tool to see how long you will be able to run the latest games without issues.

it's crap just going off what the minimum specs say regardless of whether they make sense.

no DVD drive so you can;t play witcher enhanced... who has a dvd drive these days seriously.....

my pc current pc is worse than your old one and I've not found a game I can't play.

cyberpunk ran great on fairly high settings etc

actual games are still about as demanding as they were in 2016 if you still play at 1080..

I'll upgrade my ancient rig when something like GTA6 or the next elder scrolls game comes out at this rate

Yeah, minimum system requirements are only meant as a rough guideline, not as pass/fail. Things like dx 11/dx12 or pixel shader requirements generally can't be ignored though.

I think the game developers just roughly estimate them generally. My experience with recommended requirements, is that they are generally a bit low, and don't necessarily mean a target of 60fps, devs are often more focused on console development where lower framerates are common. following the rec. specs might generally allow 60fps at 720p resolution...

In fact, they could add a new category for gameplay at 60fps 1080p.

Including DVD-ROM reqs seems like an anachronism though...

steam gathers all your system data, it knows what games you play and probably at what settings and what your average fps is etc.

I don't get why steam can't just automate system requirements and adjust them according to the data.

all these arbitary specs make no sense like rust needing an old i7, I bet there's dozens of pc websites that benchmarked it on less with high fps

Isn't there a new feature to run Windows 10 in a virtual environment? If you are worried and still want to run the test with 0 risk, you could just install the exe within the virtual Win. 10, then run the test.
