Canadian Grand Prix 2016, Montréal - Race 7/21

Still one of the best races when we had Brundle and Coulthard commentating on what type of birds were in the puddles!

Can't believe I sat and watched all that prog, and what an amazing last lap with Button captalising on Vettels mistake!

I was on holiday and watched a couple of hours of the race then left it as I was expecting it to be crap (and had to go get some food). Couldn't believe it when I checked up on the result later that night.

I had all 6 hours or whatever it was recorded on my sky box for years! Haha! Awesome race.

I was watching the 2008 Grand Prix yesterday on Sky F1 and i'd forgot about the Hamilton, Raikonen and Rosberg end of pit lane crash! That was amazing. Haha! What also struck me was how annoying the V8's sound compared to now. I actually prefer the sound of the new engines!?! I cant wait to hear them live at some point.

Your not alone. The NA V8s were just loud and unpleasant, we just never noticed.

The V6s, while they could do with being a bit louder, are such a more complex, interesting and diverse noise. You can easily pick out the different manufacturers from the noise alone, and the whistles and chirps on lift off are great.

Thanks OP.

Love this circuit! Nice start time too. I think RBR are going to be very strong here, merc will definitely have a race on their hands.

He had a seat fit for the old BrawnGP car the other day, unless he was just in there for shiggles?

FoS doesn't clash with an F1 race though, so why is it being mentioned?

He may well have had a seat fitting the other day, but his reason for missing this weekend is medical.

Hamilton a big gap in FP1 to Rosberg on I believe the same tires. Ahead on the softs in FP2 then Rosberg comes out on Ultra's and is under 2/10ths faster than Ham on those softs. Ham comes out and gets over half a second gap to a second faster lap on the ultras from Rosberg. Hamilton has always absolutely owned here unless his car fails him or someone bumps him off. He's ridiculous here.

Vettel quicker than Rosberg now, that could make things spicy if that trend continues all weekend.

Think of all that juicy data he'll have to pour over tonight though...

That time of Hamilton's is only two seconds off the record ever lap time at this circuit and its only P2 (1:12.275 in 2004). It will be interesting how close they get tomorrow in Q3.
